guys i have an issue.
I was driving a bit fast one night- my nani was unwell and it was a medical emergency (yes, I know it wasn't very smart: please don't lecture me)
i was driving at a speed of 80-100 km/hr on the main DHA road. when i came through the curve opposite the PSO petrol pump i braked and the car went out of control while i was turning (it's a very wide curve). the car was almost going to hit the divider and then i turned the wheel very gently in the opposite direction (it's so light and responsive- that the car then skidded in the opposite direction). all the time i had my foot on the brake- hard at first then light.
but as the speed was not too high, i was able to control it.
this incident really freaked me out- i have driven the 2010 manual swift/ 2014 auto swift at moderate speeds through that bend (i'm sure less than what i was driving at that night) but i have never felt the car going out of control.
I am going to get this car checked.
but i would just like to know what the reason here was- and if anyone else has ever had a similar issue? arent the ABS brakes supposed to keep the car under control when you brake while driving through a bend?
