Need the review for this Kenko product

I am considering 85mm f1.8 + Kenko which will meet both portraits and macro requirements. I already have 50mm so 1:1 can be done as well.

Kenko / Extension Tube; just like 50mm f/1.8 is nifty little thing; I would say its better than Teleside Close Up Lenses / Filters like Raynox; gives better results and comparatively easier to install...Obviously you cannot compare such budget approaches with any Macro Lens

If no near future plans for "full frame goodness" then do consider the EFS-60mm Macro; it should serve the both purpose. I could not find its "opened" / trial copy at any local outlet (A) to get its feel

I am going for EF lenses only u know why

I was thinking of 100mm macro but it isn't ideal for portraits. And 85mm is a tad sharper than 100mm so thought i should get kenko with 85mm to serve both purposes. Reviews claim that image quality doesn't suffer with ext tubes due to no glass.

I am all set for 60mm Macro. I think it suites the most for my needs. Its just that I am out of funds these days

BTW there is another way around, when you buy something for Rs. 1000/- tell her that you got it dirt cheap, say around Rs. 300 only. That's my success story lol

You have got a fantastic camera; I didnt knew much about it when purchasing 600D; didnt assessed it much thinking its too expensive. Will definitely upgrade to 7D-II!

We have the same lenses in our bags 18-135 is I guess the most useful kit lens and new buyers should go for it!

Yeah 7D is an able camera....though I sometimes think I switched wrongly to 7D from my previously owned Nikon D200 - and I should have considered D7000. I was actually drawn into this decision because of finish, speed, and focusing system of 7D. Any way I wish you luck for your next purchase (do consider that Canon is thinking of launching a more affordable full-frame camera than 5DMK3)

I don't like the current 18-135 lens - and am seriously considering to get either 17-55mm f/2.8 or 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6........I am torn between the two options......tell me what would you prefer......

17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM is 1000$+ and EF-S
15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM is 700$+ and again EF-S :S

If investing this much into lens; i think it should be EF; long term and sturdy investment

there is a cheaper FF camera coming this Dec. its called the Canon 6D. if you really want to invest in good len, then i suggest you go for L lens. All EFS lens are not compatible with FF cameras so its not worth the investment.
depending on what your shooting style is, i suggest you look into the following lens

1) 24-105mm F4 IS
2) 24-70MM F2.8
3) 17-40MM F4
4) New 24-70 F4 IS
all these lens are amazing. i personally would go for 24-105 F4 IS. for me it has proven an all rounder lens and i might not have a separate thread for my pictures, but this is what the lens is capable of taking out.
