My first khyber!

Assalam-o-Alaikum,

I just bought a Khyber 1995 and want to share my experience and learn from the people who already have this car about the different maintenance issues as I previously had an FX for around 10 years and I used it like a mule but didnt give much attention to the body maintenance and for the same reason had to sell it.

Now I bought this car as I heard many good feedback and grew up seeing this car in almost every neighborhood. So as with all the Khyber lovers I always wanted to have this car.

Please give your opinions if I bought a good deal.

Now this is a used car and I was ready to face the issues. The first issue was that it had some security system previously installed which the last owner forbid me to use. But I accidentally pressed a button on the remote and it stopped working (the car). With many difficulty I got it to work again. but the car has very messed up wiring and the self stops working every now and then. I want to get its wiring checked and remove the system if its faulty. So I made a topic on pakwheels to get help and some owner did reply.

But I took the car to my mechanic and he recommended some electrician and he installed a relay before the self and the issue is resorted for now. And I hope that it doesnt happen again.

Bought it under 2 lac with full tax paid.

After electrician work i took the car for alignment cause the steering was pulling to the left. I did the balancing but alignment couldnt be done cause the mukhi(some rod below the floor, dont know or remember whats it called) is damaged. the previous owner did change the floor but didnt repaired that part. So the alignment wala guy told me to take it to denter painter for repair.

According to him the car should have two floors. One inner, which was fully replaced. And the second below that so the inner floor couldnt catch rust. So I took it to some random denter for an idea and he told me to repair it(the mukhi) and put the tar coating over that part. The denter further said that "floor aik hi hota hai" very confidently. So now I am confused.

As who of the two was correct.?

No rusting. But some parts are "galay huay" as i mentioned "the makhi". But it was expectedd as it is an old car. And I got it cheap and tend to set it my way.

Yaar under two and 1995 to bohat sahi milgayi. I also own a 93 white.

Bhai you should have gone to the service station first get it properly washed and then you will see what is the situation from the underside. Mukki is where the suspension is tightened to the body it that is not proper you car will have suspension issues and your tyres will be ruined very soon.

There is one layer of floor.

Playing with wiring is dangerous. Get the whole wiring sorted out. Remove any "nitro tape" joints and join the wires in a proper manner (search Google)

When ever I buy a car I get if serviced first and then change all the fluids, then check for wiring and suspension bushes.

Remember mere Bhai it is a Khyber not an FX. Fx is real simple to maintain and Khyber too if you know where to find parts.

Thanks for the reply. Means the denter was correct. And yes the suspension issue is there thats why couldn't get alignment done.

Any particulars i should take care of when this mukki is getting repaired?? Or any good denter you know to get this done in karachi.??

MashAllah. Congrats on your purchase. It is no doubt a good car. We also own a khyber 1996 since 2007.

The mukki work is still stuck. Just came from a denter behind Newtown police station, named by attaullah.

Came back to my mechanic. He is saying that mukki work is critical. And he has a guy who does a good job. Cause if mukki sahi set nai hui tou gari mein masla rahay ga!!

Now what to do.?? His denter is at soldier bazaar, named aslam!!

Please suggest!!
