I would suggest replacing the tank. Its built in filter would be clogged by now.

Mine is a e53 so safe to say it uses ATF, and yes its NA, I would replace the tank as well good tip, its weeping a tiny bit and the PS hoses are on order from Dewan should arrive soon, so might as well replace the plastic tank, btw to know you driving a e70 now that too with the famous BMW straight 6. btw the PS thoses were pricy, all in all about 70krs for all the Hoses, but they had been leaking a bit so might as well change it, as it gets older it would be difficult to find new ones, any tips for the quick disconnect at the cooler? what if you don't have the special tool, shouldn't attempt it yourself then?

Make the tool yourself.
Its not too complex. And dont try to do it without it.

The old e53 always had atf as power steering oil. The tank on them is servicable. U can unscrew the filter and wash it. Very fiddly business.

The hoses are available in the aftermarket easily. As bmw in their new genius have stopped selling stuff for older than 7 yr old. Models

btw does the M111 not have a oil pressure sensor? I looked and couldn't find one nor can find one on EPC, and what do you think of this o ring on the pickup tube connecting to the oil pump, is this a part that should be preemptively replaced or wears out? mine is done 150k kms, reason is a M113 w211 done 200k km was at shahanwaz which spun bearings and threw a con rod out of the block, reason on dissemble they said was oil starvation at the pump because of a similar o ring, it was as hard as plastic, that got me worried about mine especially as no oil pressure sensor.

You.may check oil pressure by engine oil cap.
Remember never rely on oil pressure guages as they are never accurate, i have one on my pajero but i always adopt desi formulas for such inspections.

Opening the oil pump just for some weham is never a good option. It is oil.pump not thermostat

M111 dont have a pressure sensing system, just a level. The O ring you mention is replaced anytime the oil pickup tubing is removed (its standard practice on all engines including japanese ones)

what I have seen in Pakistan is mechanics slapping some silicone on that tube to help that squashed O ring. That is a sure fire 100% way to kill your engine as silicone RTV is useless for a negative pressure system.

you can use a mechanical gauge to test the pressure - there is a port on all engines. Its used to check engine health too.

Yep that’s what I am going to do this or next weekend
I located the pressure test port to the front of the oil filter housing, has a copper washer I’ll see if I have a matching size from the jar of freshly annealed copper washers I have
No one seems to stock new ones in the markets so I kept a jar myself

Mashr Allah it’s been nearly 4 years cars been really good to me plan on keeping it for another 6 years insha allah So keeping a eye on anything that may be a issue down the road

I know a guy nearby who has a oxygen aceltlene torch
So whenever I have a bunch on old ones I want to anneal I goto him
Nice flame and they worked fine afterwards

Done a bunch of premtives checks and maintenance recently
Like opening the valve cover lining up all the timing marks and inserting the special MB cam pins and calculating chain stretch
It still has about 50% or useful for left according to values
on WIS
Have a little bit of noise from the vvti variator on cold start after it’s been sitting for a few days for 2 sec but Shahnawaz and MB forums said that was normal and m111 are generally noisy when cold
Also replaced the Valeo radiator which on early w203s and w211 can leak internally and mix with ATF to a Behr unit just to avoid this issue in case it ever happens

the startup noise is completely normal, dont worry.

the radiator of choice for me is Nissens. They still make them with a stent insert in the hose nipples.

The italian sourced valeo has best spacing per tube but have the leakage fault.

@arzaam.bhatti @Xulfiqar The cluster of a benz is operated by which part of the vehicle? If i buy a w203 prefacelift and swap a newer m271 motor will i be able to change the cluster aswell to the facelifted one? I can buy a w203 but i dont like the half moon cluster

The cluster is on the can bus
Its tied through the EIS, if you have access to deeper level tools you can do this but make sure to write the correct mileage (only 50km difference allowed) otherwise you will have a permanent check light and half dead cluster.

got some new wheels and tires,

old ones were 15 inch 205/60 R15 Continental CC5

new ones imported from UK off a C350 Coupe are AMG sport line staggered
7.5J front and 8.5J rear all offsets correct for w203
got new wheel bolts too M12x1.5 R12 ball sheet 40mm shank length
direct fit

tires I got Pirelli P Zeros top of the line 2018 Manufactured 225/45 R17 front and Continental MC6 sport 245/40 R17 rear

so far well pleased both in looks and drive, had a couple of enthusiastic motorway on ramp runs and P zeros grip very well much less understeer now. despite the thin profile ride comfort is still quite good and so is ground clearance and wheel arch clearance with 3 people in the back ( the centre rear passenger hates me I know)

W203 is pretty practical with the seats folded, also had Dynamic wheel balancing done at Shahnawaz, alignment was not affected.

next on the list is new headlights either facelift ones or projector retrofit if I could figure out programming them In STAR and dealign with the self leveling feature

and here are the old wheels and tires, going to make a coffee table or stool or something out of them, I have my old brake rotors as well so probably can use a combination of that plus a axle and these wheels to create some interesting things

Plus since the tires stil were good and recently changed I am keeping these for when visiting northern areas as the current tires are way too low profile for that
