I have been a silent reader and admirer of of PW community for a little time. I am confessing this now because some great and senior (my focus isn't on age :P) owners of GS, with their posts, updates with pictures and tips & tricks regarding how to maintain this motorcycle; helped me made my mind to go for GS.

Alhamdulillah, today picked my GS from showroom. I haven't named it yet (because deciding a gender free name is difficult), so I'd be calling it GS for now

Before GS I had my uncle's 70cc and I've never rode any other bike (i.e. CG, YBR etc) except a100cc scooty. Therefore, I might be needing proper assistance and schooling from respected GS owners, time to time regarding maintenance, modification for comfort and Inshallah in future for long tours. Kindly bear with my simple, basic and masoomana questions as I've never had such an amazing machine before.

My first query today would be, how to put/install a mudguard on front fender, as you can see in picture there aren't any holes or screws for it. Other picture is a Screenshot of PW a forum which I do not remember.

Bought this rubber from auto shop today...

..and went to two different mechanics, asking if they could cover the gap between rear fender and frame, so mud won't spoil frame or engine

But, alas, both of them didn't knew how to do it.
First one, I believe didn't even wanted to try

Second mechanic, took off the seat and tried to take off the fender but as it is in two parts, so he also gave up

Anyone have tried to do this, by themselves or they know how to do it, so I'd ask the mechanic to do it same way.

Hmmm, so it seems i landed on the dark side of PW-Forums planet when I was a silent reader/observer it was swarming with comments
Anyway, I solved the last issue at home, with some DiY stuff. I took off the front fender and made two holes with drill machine, and for rear I didn't knew how to take it off so I used a soldering gun to make holes.
This is the outcome, I am felling a bit worried as front fender seems a bit less leand to one side but rest is fine.

Brother, I went to Wagah today and this rubber thingy saved the engine of my precious ride from a piles of mud not taking it of now, but in future maybe i take it off when i find the other ones in triangle shaped and hard plastic material

Indeed it is and amazing machine , and yes I am taking very much care of it. Yesterday some drops of battery water from the drain pipe fell on the silencer and left very ugly stains, still feeling very sad because of it
Now, planning to buy silencer wrap (belt type thing) to cover it completely.

Completed +300km, so far no issue or problem with the motorcycle. Just stiff handle steering, which was fixed a day ago by Suzuki Mechanics, but still it feels very hard to turn/move the handle.
Hamikhan, yes brother in near future I might be changing stock battery with Dry-Cell battery.
In my expenses quota of this month, I've done few things i.e.

• Body Stickers (laminated)
• Rim Stickers
• Foot-rest
• Chrome side mirrors

انشالله every month, will be upgrading a little, before going to any long trip.

Question for now, do I need to change oil filter too with first oil change at 500km?

MASHA ALLAH your bike looking more beautiful with modifications that done by you..& for oil filter i think you don,t need to change it. all its depends on oil filter condition
