My First Suzuki Khyber (1995)

AoA all respected members,
First of all i am thanking all of you for being always available here, your guidance and knowledge sharing had finally made my mind to decide to buy this amazing classic piece in the Suzuki Khyber Market. i bought this car a month before, this is Khyber, 1995.
Need your suggestions for good maintenance and care. i am finding its genuine side mirrors (not local made) or any best quality of long distance mirrors. please help and guide regarding all best maintenance and care.
Features are,
Model 1995
Color Red (all original/inner and outer)
Non AC (expecting to install)
Petrol Driven ( CNG never been installed)
Wheels 175/65/12 Alloy Wheels
Immaculate Condition and drive.

MashAllah, looks amazing. Show pictures of interior aswell.
Check car's engine seals for any oil leaks, if there aren't any start using 10w40 engine oil. Make sure the car's cooling system has only coolant in it and no water and make sure that the thermostat valve is installed and is working. If fan's direct, revert it to factory settings and make it auto.
Other than that, change your car's fuel filter and bleed brake fluid and put in siekens dot 3 brake fluid. Take care of your car.
Checklist
1. Oil change (Engine, Gear, Brake)
2. Cooling system (Radiator condition, hoses, coolant, fan needs to be auto, thermostat valve)
3. Fuel filter change
4. Sparkplugs/wires if they're faulty

Others might add more tips if Im missing out anything.

Currently this car is being driven on Havoline 20w50 as per the previous owner said he had been using the same. i personally liked your once guidance to a khyuber user in same matter u asked him to use MoS2 Liqui Moly and some other stuff u guided him (exactly not remember but am sure u had made such suggestions) so point of discussion is i liked that advise and i want to follow that after checking engine condition/weather/etc and as u said by checking engine seals etc. will discuss with you sir and the auto mechanic. will share with you sir and will seek guidance.

Right now am seeking to Install AC in this car as it has NON AC and i am wanting to change seat belts, old genuine seat belts are fussy. want to replace with new ones of new technology.
ANY guidance on this sir ??

Recently, I have added complete A/C from scratch in my Khyber. Total expense went 28,000 with DENSO Rotory Type compressor(Toyota Duet compressor) with Multi flow condenser and multi flow inner coil (Inner coil of Toyota Vitz)
I will also recommend you same setup from Bashir Autos A/C works in Lahore

Replace ordinary belts with Vitz motor type seat belts

For side mirror, u can install Cultus side mirror or 2nd option is u just add small round magni. Visor for far view

Side mirror is fus, a headache. am unable to find somw good quality and of good size mirrors, although right now am using AULTO mirrors but looks bad. i want to change it with long distance view mirror but similar to genuine look/size. i am recalling in my school days we had Corolla 86, that queen had good mirrors and little bit similar to size of khyber, am trying to find the same. see, it works or not.

I am flattered by what you have said but surely don't deserve such high praise. I am glad you have seeked advice on forum and taken it rather than making a haphazard decision. As for engine oil, 20w50 oil is okay for Khyber. But if the engine allows use the lightest viscosity, it will help improve performance and mileage, the difference won't be much but the car will feel lighter on it's feet. Here you can see the recommended engine oil viscosity and more information regarding your car's engine.

Yes I recommended someone to use LiquiMoly MoS2 in their car, because their car's engine was noisy. If yours is too, purchase LiquiMoly Ceratec, it is even better than MoS2 but more expensive. It will create a thin layer of ceramic on your engine's moving parts, reducing friction and making it smoother and reducing noise to an extent. Look it up, it has great reviews, much better than Mos2 but more expensive.

As for AC, everything along with the blower might set you back around 35 thousand give or take. For seatbelts you can go to any scrapyard near your city (sultan ka khoo pindi/shershah khi), you won't find them new but with alteration any seatbelts might be able to fit in your car, it will cost you around 2000.

@shahkhan1982 the key to happiness with this car is to never pinch pennies.

When you take your car to the workshop for one repair or maintenance procedure, try getting multiple jobs done at once.

For example, lets say you need to get the axle boot replaced - now would be a good time to get the ball joints and tie rods replaced too, even if they are fine - they are bound to fail soon - original SGP parts are mostly unavailable, and aftermarket ones that are, have a much shorter service life.

Its a choice between less money now, more headache and kharcha in the long run.

LiquiMoly is a good brand of oil, they are frowned upon on this forum because of being pricier and it's people's opinion here that it's bad, that doesn't make it a fact.
I think you saw the name LiquiMoly and didn't read all the way through, but I did not recommend a LiquiMoly oil either, Total, Shell, Castrol, Kixx etc from a renowned seller/company operated pump are good enough and they are the more sensible option.
I recommended an additive (Ceratec) by LiquiMoly which costs 4000rs and its effect lasts upto 40,000+ km, not overpriced in my books. It works, quite well too so not overhyped either.

It's not just about expense, there is just no added benefit to justify that expense - Shell, Caltex, Total etc can do the same job at a significantly lower cost.

I know about Ceratec, there's an old thread about it too with extensive discussion.

dear members, seen lot of discussions on quality lubricants on forum ,myself always using caltex being best but a no of times i had to replace 100 or 200km run oil on my ride for 90% of caltex available in market is FAKE reasonmaybe was its resale popularity and high price resultantly many no2 were avalaible for past one year am using liquimoly oils and additives,best part is quality and whatever is claimed on packing, product will confirm in quality ,amazing results i ve used mobile1 as well …

It's practically snake oil - no motor manufacturer recommends it.

Doesn't make the oil itself bad. I myself use total, but if someone has the money to use the oil I wouldn't tell them not to. People on the forum such as @dani_kk also vouch for it and use it. And they do have extensive knowledge pertaining to its performance.
As for it being a snake oil, have you given it a try yourself? It works and knowing about it through extensive discussions is not enough, there are discussions regarding it on both ends of the spectrum, being a snake oil and working quite good. You should try it for yourself, if not it's okay. It has worked for my old honda city.
