My Honda Vezel is giving me an extremely poor fuel average

Hi,

I have a 2016 Honda Vezel RS that I have been driving for a couple of months in Karachi now. It has a total of around 32,000 kms on it; 1,500 of which I am responsible for. Ever since I got the car, my fuel average has stayed below 10km/l. I even got the engine oil and oil filter changed as soon as got. I also recently reset my trip odometer and after I month I saw that my current fuel average is 9km/l. My car also takes a couple of seconds to accelerate after I press the throttle. Is that normal?

Could someone please help me diagnose and resolve the issues that I am facing

It is a 5 year old JDM Hybrid vehicle with a CVT box., at 32000 over odo | avg yearly 6300 kms | 500 kms a month. For a 1500 cc Hybrid the fuel avg is bit off and needs to be addressed. Do you have maintenance history for the vehicle. What is engine oil grade you are using since the purchase?

i recommend visit a workshop which can scan & pull the error codes.

For the oil change I used Toyota’s 0W-20 Synthetic Oil. As for the previous maintenance records, I have them, but their in Japanese. It’ll probably take me some to figure them out after running a translator.
If i might ask, what specifically should I be looking for in the maintenance records?

toyota 0w20 is not officially distributed, most of it being marketed here is fake. How much engine oil did u put? overfilled engine oil can contribute to low fuel average. I would suggest to use Shell/caltex brand from authorized place and pour only 3litres and then report on fuel average. PSO euro5 fuel is also recommended.

Get your fan for the hybrid battery serviced
Get a new air filter,better to get the oem original one
And yes the delay in the acceleration is normal in Vezel

If you drive in congested areas only, then this is what you will get.
Mileage will improve when the car switches to EV mode on straight stretches.
Never the less I expect the car to give you around 15.

I suspect its the oil, the one poured in your car may not be 0w-20 which can effect the mileage surely.

If you can afford get the oil changed to 0w-20 Total, Shell or Kixx. with new oil filter.

Aoa sir response to padel can be adjustrd thru menu as it has option of hard, soft or normal. For fuel economy i think switch to econ mode and use only required force to padel. Glide can also work during driving, mean after required speed minum force to padel.
