Everyone in car buying India has a commuter car and i am no exception. Since the average cost of a commuter car on-road , even with the recent price inrease is between 5lacs to 8lacs depending on engine size and dimensions and is still within the affordable range for many buyers. One can even buy a compact SUV at the higher end of the price range in previous sentence.
My commuter car brand has always been Suzuki, Some of the cars they make are actually nice!!, lol
My last commuter car was the IDM Wagon R which is a nice car but recently Suzuki dealers here in Chennai have been selling the Wagon R to taxi fleets and i didn't feel good about it. So i decided to change my commuter car even though the Wagon R is a worthy car.
One of my friend suggested the Suzuki Ignis hatch sold through Suzuki's upscale NEXA division and i decided to check it out. I have seen some Ignis cars on the road but the design is an acquired taste is what i thought.
Once i took a test drive i was floored. This car has a 1.2 liter 4-cylinder engine with 81bh/113 Nm of torque with superior build quality ( Euro Spec) and for the price a full equipment list that made me put down the 11,000 rupees deposit and started the negotiations for the exchange rate for the Wagon R.
I will update this thread with the price quote from the dealer and the exchange rate for the Wagon R with pics of the new car later in this thread.
Meanwhile here's a video of the Suzuki Ignis Zeta variant sold in India that i have purchased and took delivery last tuesday. The car looks compact from outside but is quite spacious on the inside and got a good sound system too!. The car in video is similar to my car but i got some accessories to pimp it a little bit.
