Sometimes, manufacturers do listen to the voice of the people. At Rs5.5lacs on road and now available off the shelf in Chennai. Has aircon too!

did the voice of the people say to create a rip-off of the jeep?

This is not a rip-off .It is a fully licenced model from Jeep Corp to suit Indian conditions and modified by Mahindra Motor with domestic produced engines. Mahindra Motor is the full owner of Ssangyong Motor, have subsidiaries and operations worldwide and build tractors in the US. Their truck portfolio for the north american market has been delayed but expect to see the Mahindra badge on road stateside in 2014.

The only best things about an X-6 is its HUD. In 2009 when i was given a replacement car for 2 days by EMC - UAE it was an X-6 burgundy red and the 1st thing which made me PHEW was the HUD (heads up display of Speed, RPM & Temp). It was my 1st encounter with an HUD in land vehicle. Before that It was only in a pilots helmet of a Cobra Gunship (on ground) in 1998 , & an F-16 cockpit (on ground) soon after Nuclear test.
