My mehran engine is very rough

i bought a mehran in 2010 and the car is now 8000 km driven... i did not drive the car for 5 years from 2015 to 2020 and i used the car very sparingly...when i started the car after 5 years the car was not able so i went to a mechanic who opened and cleaned the carburator and car started running... since then the is running but its engine is very rough and car does not acclerate properly... engine also sounds rough... what could be the problem

You need to service complete engine, change the oils, change the filters, check for rust in fuel tank, then overhaul carburetor. you might need to change the spark plugs and also check for correct operation of cooling system.

This might be result of old fuel in your car's fuel tank. Old fuel will destroy the fuel lines, rust them and it also will/can harm the fuel jets if its a carb or injectors if its efi. I had this issue with my city where i parked it for a whole year with full fuel tank and when i started it it started but was rough. Eventually it costed me to replace a fuel tank and fuel filter and that was it for me. My car got sorted but at that point i sold it because i was fed up with diagnosing the car for far too long. Actual culprit was bad fuel in tank.

thanx for the reply... i did not keep my car tank full only 2 or 3 litres of fuel left in tank but i think u are right it is the bad fuel that is creating the problem... can u suggest how can i fix it?

you will have to physically see the tank from inside, Check for rust. If it's rusted then you will have to change the tank as removing rust is almost impossible. you will also need to inspect the fuel lines as the fuel sits in the fuel lines too. check the lines physically from outside and where it connects to engine and the tank.
start from the tank and continue to the engine. Troubleshoot each part at a time. Also check your fuel filter if its rusty or dirty. That could also halt the supply of petrol to car and cause the issue you mention. Actually check the fuel filter first and then do the rest. Start from easy to the most difficult process.

Better visit suzuki dealership as ur car is brand new. Suzuki central motors GT road swan has some very good mechanics

Try getting in touch with Mehtab bhai on 4th B road, I think he is the best mechanic in Rawalpindi, what I like about him is that he keeps it very simple, does not spread the work a lot and very genuinely sorts things out.

Very decent gentleman. He will sort it out for you.
