Post wheel change experience: Everywhere i drove around today i got approvals and approving glances. One guy came up to me when i got out of the car and asked me if the rims were new. I said 'yes' and he replied. 'simple and best'. I'm gonna leave them be.

Back to the Nano and then the new Swift when it is delivered into my hands( September). I haven't firmed up the color yet.( i've booked silver but i can change if i want to)

great.. those final choice rims look great (simple and best ).. more decent than five-spoke rims..

apart from the rims, your car seems in very mint condition, superb.. plz hang a lemon or two to ward-off my evil eyes ...

new Swift han??.. great.. congrats in advance.. silver is good, but why not gun-metallic ??

re: new Swift, 'twas all of a sudden, even if i have to drive it around for seven months i'd still sell it for a good price. Why not?. You live only once and i'll be trading in the Estilo so i won't be paying all that much outta pocket. Sudden and impulse decision.

I ain't the only one waiting for the Swift. Every boyracer in India is too.

The nano looks much better with the upgraded rims, the original ones were ugly as sin. Can't say the same about your choice of rims for the SX4, too many spokes, but still not bad.
What's with installing only one side-view mirror? even the godforsaken Suzuki Mehran comes with two, albeit useless, side-view mirrors.

Appreciate your views on my choices. I played i safe with the SX4's rims, i agree.

Re: Nano side mirror, the 'LX' model is equipped with one driver's side mirror, factory fitted. I like two mirrors too, but in this car haven't felt the need to get another fixed as visibility is excellent all around.

Thanks. I get atleast one compliment everytime i drive around in it and mostly from other SX4 owners.

update: The stereo in my Nano gets fixed on Wednesday. The technician didn't show up for work and the box is still in my car. The Nano got it's 2nd free service today and the steering feels much lighter. Well, the service wasn't entirely free. I had to pay RS167/- for i don't know what. I didn't bother to read the receipt yet.

I copped out of fitting the carbon fiber trim 'cause it didn't look good and fit the wood trim instead. The stereo gets fixed later today , finally, as i missed my last appointment and had to rebook as i wanted it to be fixed on a Sunday!. I'll update with pics again with the stereo later.

I got nitrogen filled in the tires and had a wheel alignment done in my Sx4 last Saturday and i've done nothing since. I'm getting real excited about the delivery of my new Swift. My dealer has told me he's gonna try and get me one as early as mid-September and i'm keeping my fingers crossed. I've been careful driving my Estilo around as i'm gonna trade in the car.

I forgot to post this pic earlier(from ten days ago). Lotsa gadgetry and computer printout which didn't make any sense to me and RS300/- later.But the wheels feel more planted on the road after this which is my impression.

The stereo in my Nano is fixed and i took pics but they were kinda blurry when i uploaded them today. i will have to retake pics and i will post an update next visit.

I won something finally!. A set of 13" alloys at my office raffle courtesy of a local tyre store among many other automotive stuff and deals(corporate discount etc., on new cars) that was being handed out by local car/tire and accessory dealers who were conducting a sales drive in the parking lot. This was totally unexpected and i had no other choice but to load them in the back set of my Nano and drive home. I think i will fit them on the Estilo or sell them. My mechanic has offered me Rs8000/- and they retail for approx. Rs12000/- i'm told. Well, here's a pic of one before i loaded them in the Nano.

I'll update on this item also my next visit.

Try as i might i've been forgetting to take a pic of the stereo whenever i'm out in daylight and today i remembered to take a pic after parking the car in my basement garage. And, %^&$, the guys ruined the wood finish sticker in the panel above the stereo and removed it so the center console looks kinda odd. The dealer has promised a replacement this Saturday and i'll retake clear pics then and post again later. For now, pics below and the main thingy is that i've been enjoying the drive lately listening to music and the sound is pretty good , so overall i'm not complaining.

My new Swift is still a month away from me as labor troubles in the Maruti-Suzuki Manesar plant have just about settled down and regular production is commencing. Trouble brewed again. Gossip going around is that this is in retaliation for trying to sabotage the Nano by the fire episodes. I'm inclined to believe as we all know the automotive business world over is a high stakes cut-throat business.

I still have the alloys that i won in the boxes. The border is actually bright red but looks kinda pinkish in the pic above. I haven't decided yet what i want to do with them.

I took this pic on Monday as when i returned to my car i found another Nano behind it. My Nano looks bigger in the pic doesn't it?. My N95 phonecam has an eye of it's own.
