My new 2018 Suzuki Swift

The competition. The main contender was the all new Polo but VW India is launching the new Polo later this year or early 2019 so it was ruled out. Hyundai teased us with images of the all new Santro test car but then announced that it will launched in the festive season later this year. The all new Ford Freestyle preview looked good but the launch is scheduled for later this month and deliveries will probably begin in May depending on whether it is made in Gujarat or Tamil Nadu. The Santro would have been the lowest priced car of the four. In the end, the Swift won because it was available for sale.And, so far i'm not regretting my choice.

Best choice amongst the others. A proven design and mechanicals. Just one question, no nav/ touchscreen infotainment system?

Touchscreen, projector headlamps and 'diamond cut' alloy wheels are offered in the ZXi + variant and i'm not a big fan of sat/nav or touchscreen and costs more money too.I dislike fidgeting with fiddly bits on a screen while i'm trying to keep my self alive and others too by concentrating on traffic while i'm driving. I love listening to music while driving and i like old school push button radio and cd changer.The sound system is super in this car so who cares what it looks like, how it sounds is all that matters.

However, i did try and ask if i could get the projector headlamps and alloys but one can't mix and match.. So, i'm satisfied with my choice of variant.

Thanks so much. I saw a similar car drive down the road one day and i fell in love with the color. I asked my dealer if i could change and they kindly obliged and got me this car from Suzuki's Bangalore depot. Nice of them. Well, 7-1/2 lacs was my budget for a city car and this is what i got for the money.

Very good choice and many congrats. I am surprised here in the UK swift is not as popular as some of its German or British counterparts even though it offers better value for money and it is just as reliable if not more.

Currently looking for a used small hatchback for better half and undecided between polo and swift. Sadly since swift is not that common, it is a hard fine.

So after two days of buzzing around in the swift i gave it a rest today and probably will tomorrow.Today i drove my Nano around town and tomorrow will give the Altis a run. More pics of engine and instrument cluster of swift coming soon.

The Swift ZXi comes with two airbags as standard equipment , one for driver and other for co-occupant. Maruti-Suzuki sold 19,207 Swift cars in March 2018.A factoid!

Just a few questions out of curiosity; is a hatch more popular or sedan? Any specific reason why you chose a hatch? Do you take any road trips or just city driving?

I bought a sedan as it seats 4 comfortably with separate space for luggage, shopping and with a longer wheelbase it's comfortable and suitable for road trips or city driving.
