My new Corolla Altis CVT-i Cruisetronic

Fuel economy or my car has drastically changed after 2000km. More like after I hitted 210. It's giving almost 17km/l now when I mantained it on 100 and cruise on. on 100 eco indicator is only showing 2-3 bars. That means fuel economy is between 15-20km/l
Damn that's crazy. Anybody know why It happened after hitting top speed of 210? @xulfiqar bhai @autophile @makhdoom123

Engine khul Gaya ap ki car ka.
Now car is breathing correctly. Happy to know that.
Or Toyota put hybrid engine there who know??

Now everyone should try this once take Their car to 200 to get maximum fuel economy

Engine break in was completed at 1300km, last fuel tank had octane booster, and this one didn't but within city it has increased upto 13km/l
Motorway 15km/l and highway/gt road it's giving 16-17km/l
I won't suggest to flat out, I was beating vezel coz it is limited at 180

Also, this engine with cvt doesn't get so much high revs. Rpm stays between 1-2.5, I think it's due to revving it at 5-6 consistently for like 20kms. :-/ no idea how it happened? Long story short. It's crazy

Fyi: prius hybrid engine is 2zr fxe. This one is same series engine 2zr-fe and was made for good fuel consumption with more power as compare to prius, coupling it with cvt it gives good fuel consumption.
If you have sarcasm related to that, please review my older post when It was giving me 15km/l on highway only at 400km odo.

Agree on the CVT part yes it is very smooth and rpm always stays low but sadly my uncle grande is not giving this much mileage about 14 on long.
We have 1.6 Altis 1zrfe but not this much fun as compare to 1.8 Altis.

The 7 speed makes it accelerate so good that y don't push it beyond 2k rpm hence giving great fuel economy but old ECT is a but sluggish

It's all in the break in, like how you do it. There are people who are getting 10 from grande on long routes.
Break in strategy should be there in your mind before getting the delivery of your car

Please share the break in procedure you are following

300km, slow acceleration and upto 100, drove it in real calm way.
Two 180 runs and than came back to zero and waited for one min.
After that, I drove it normally till 1000km.
After 1000km on and off rev, hard paddle and soft paddle. Going to 160, and than instantly driving normally at 60-100.
After 1500km I went for flatout 210 once and stopped it at the shoulder of motorway. I waited for one minute than at 2000km I did the same for 5-10kms and came back home turned off the car, and went for ride the next day. Voila, "engine khul geya jay"

Drive very calmly in first 300km coz Toyota will only do initial break in of 30kms

For break in I had one advantage though. I booked my car from RAHIMYARKHAN, and I travelled all the way to Lahore the very next day.
650kms.
My car gave me fuel consumption of 15-16km/l in first 600km which includes two runs of 180km/h.

Read some articles by searching on google as well. They are really helpful.
Once you will get an idea what a break in procedure is, you will derive your own strategy for it

I changed rims and tyres in my 2010 corolla.
The thing is, when you are going big than go big on price. Go for lenso or ssr lightweight rims 6-7kg/rim. Tyres should be 215/50 or 215/55 if you go for corolla. Yes, it will affect suspension, but if you drive carefully it won't and the only good thing you will get is outclass road grip.
When you will use light weight rims your car won't struggle for acceleration, and it won't affect fuel consumption (it didn't affect consumption of 2010 rolla). If you go for low profile like 40/45 than you are in trouble. A little khadda or a speed bump will bend the outer side of your rim if you're coming at like 60-70, but I would prefer to go for 50 profile.

Keep one thing in mind you have to go for light weight and branded rims.
The lighter they are the lesser will be the affect on your car.

PS: Lighter rims are much stronger than big heavy bulku ones
