My New Power Generating Machine--Lister Petter (15 KvA)

Who ever says they can get same peace of mind with chinese genset are wrong. We bought Kipor 13 KVA unit and with minimal load shedding those days the genset gave me sooo many problem i was literlay pulling my hair out.

I kept on running after these mechanic and electrition to solve its issues. Some time the electrics are goin out some time the engine heated up due to some water leakage some time will smoke so much that even the old age steam engine smoke less and we are talking about brand new looking one year old unit:p.

I had a heated argument with my UK Finance guy when he said we got a cheaper units available at 1.5 Lacs why buy a 8 Lacs unit some how I managed to convince him and beleive me its been 4 years this generator is right now under powered for my office as it expanded and its always at maximum load still only oil change is needed.

Even the coolant that it came with is still intact I didnt even add one drop of water.

These gensets are so good that even a cheating contractor who had a contract of filling all mobilink towers geneset with diesel did 30% 70% mix of water and diesel to earn more money still these genset worked he was caught later on though

Always remember you get what you pay for and quality always comes with a price.

did u bother to read the user manual of the chinese generator? maybe it was not made for using the way you guys were using it.

I hope @ vaqas1 has very well explained it. For your kind attention....... I have been on this energy project since long then you know. You were the one who guided a lot in calculating everything when I was working on the solar project. Furthermore, no one talked me in to this. @ skill was the one who gave me a contact of a genious person who is into making generators by importing Cummins, lister Petter, FG etc engines and coupling them with alternators etc. Later on that person came out to be somehow related too.....that was a surprise. Anyways, he guided me a lot and under his guidance, I started the survey again. Went in every detail and met a lot of frustrating chieneese genset customers.
Bro, I admit.........it's a lot of money........but its my hard earned money, and I guess I know how to spend it wisely.

Sir, there is a thing called piece of mind. I know what you're trying to express. I did a market survey and found that chienesse gensets are even more than half the price of this one but the owner is continuously in spin and I have personally observed one 14 KVA at my uncles home.........trust me it had a lot of problems. I have neither the time nor the temperament to keep in tow of such issueless issues........there are a lot other things to take care of. Its just for the comfort of me and my family. As I said before, its preferences.

Well said! I was thinking of a locally manufactured unit, which one of my relative has, from some guy in Mardan. Now thinking over it again... lets see how your experience is and maybe I will change my mind too!

Sir Cummins is manufactured in china though under their license but still its china. Secondly, Cummins engines are fuel guzzlers, please give me some time to calculate its fuel expense before commenting. I know its peace of mind but my shitty galaxy tab 10.1 keeps on screwing it up. When ever I write genset, it converts it into gender.......Lolz....... I hate Samsung products.

bro cummins is more fuel efficient, i believe coz my friends have some 6bt's in genset and you can get all engine parts from lahore or any big city and quality is at it's best even its made in china but lister petter k parts mushkil se hi milain.

in 950k you could got a good solar system
and what about fuel consumption?
suppose if your genset consumes 2 liters per hour then you get 1 hour electricity in Rs 220 and if you run your generator 5 hour a day
mean 1100 rs in a day and monthly 33k its too much
i have generators petrol and diesel from 2.5kva honda to 37.5 kva in 2 days blackout i burn only 2 liters petrol just for filling water tank and solar system saved my money

We were using it in the same way we are using the new Genset. When I was buying FG Wilson I also got one very nice offer of a 12 KVA Gas Genset by a Turkish company it was using briggs and stratton engine it was a very nice unit but thank god I didnt go for it As after that year we had to turn off our office heating due to no gas and even our tea boy's use gas cylinder in F6 area.

Will comment on fuel efficiency once I calculate it properly. Lister patter parts are available easily in rawalpindi where it is permanatly installed. I don't care if parts are not available in smaller cities as I won't be travelling with it All offices over Pakistan of NADRA have a permanent contract with lister Petter as far as I know. Have personally seen many in defense installations too. Its not some alien tech bro.
Its very surprising why people don't whine on the availability of parts of imported cars like Camry, merc, BMW or even premio? All these cars are worth 3.5 million and above. Have you ever thought about that too? Ask yourself?

I agree.......its expensive than WAPDA..and way cheaper than solar of the equivalent capacity ......but, as I said before......what's the use of comparing it to something (wapda) that is not available when you need it the most! Please review it first. And about the two days of blackout.........bro, we had total darkness and heavy rain in those two days.......so, what to talk about solar if you don't have the sun?
You're all missing the point here. Its not about just filling a water tank. I remember last year in summers we couldn't even sleep properly in those hot nights with that exhausted UPS trying to rotate the fan that finally died and than that resonating sound of horrible quietness. How can you guys forget that?

local power generator ? come on guys locally only integration is happening between yard engines, yard motors and a locally coupled switching box. manufacturing ? what a joke. name 1 manufacturer of a diesel / petrol engine over 800 cc Motors ranging from 1KW to 250KW are manufactured by PEL & SIEMENS

please do not confuse system integrators as local manufacturer

Commercial Power/KWHr using furnace oil as experimented in Pakistan has a price tag of around 12-16RS. It would be extremely economical if this setup could lower it below RS10....lets see when OP comes up with a figure

As a weather transition is in process and still no fans being used + I already mentioned that this Genset will only be used as a backUp when everything fails and its too hot to bear...............Still I have managed to use it for 8 Hours since the last fuel topup. Due to the fact that it has not much load on it now (not more than 30% of the generators capacity). The needle on the fuel guage has moved hardly a quarter to a cm and I can still see the fuel with naked eye from the refill hole.
Therefore, I cant exactly comment untill I topup it again and calculate it properly. However, If you guys insist, I can only give you a rough estimate what seems to be through naked eye ........... 3 to 5 L of Diesel Consumed in 7 hours and 47 minutes of running on 30 % load. Which is pretty good I guess
