My new purchase -- Nikon d5100!

sirs i had the oppty of using 550D and i find it a good camera , and i also had the oppty of using Panasonic GF1 and GF2 best small SLRs. My 600D arrives tomorrow lets see how it goes.

i always use snapsort.com for getting the right information.

my next purchases depending on money i can spare would be EOS 60D or D7000 with lens.

5D Mark II comes once i have matured from a prosumer to pro

I would say stick to 600d and save up for the L. Series lens. Iits completely useless getting such a high grade camera without a good lens.
I am saving up for the L series lens myself (its the lenes with a red colour line on it) and it could easily take out 1 lac 20000 from our pocket

The d3100 is pretty similar to d5100 but the screen is really bad on the d3100 . Since we all are starters, we need a good screen to judge a blurry and a sharp shot but nevertheless the camera quality is top class

i think u didnt research properly or ask the right people.... if u say the d5100 is better then 550d , then u are saying that it is better then 600d as well because 550d and 600d both are the same cameras ......

but overall, nice purchase d5100 is very nice looking

here u can choose the result between d5100, d7000 , mark IV and the canon 600d.... it will clearly tell u the result. So the site which give Mark IV 74 and d5100 80, how can i trust that site?

It's a 1.3x Crop sensor camera made for sports photography and is 2 year old technology. It's certainly in the realms of a possibility. Technology always improves.

They do in depth testing, which is a lot more trustworthy than word of mouth.

Im a one time buyer and dont wana change again n again. Fr my research i think d7000 to go fr bt if someone can convince me fr canon i ll be more thn happy lol

hahahahah man where were u? i tried calling u a couple of times b4 leaving.. but u didnt attend my calls........
haan yaar here in london no car so no audio.... so have to do something
check the dpreview site and do head to head comparasion as the pic above. u will know which camera is better for you.....
because alot of these tests are done in RAW format.... but we beginners 90% shoot in JPG format so its different......
and then which brand is better then the other is a big no no u know the end results.......

haha yes man this is what it is :D.... about the camera, d7000 is pretty expensive and i think its a 1.5x crop camera..... i feel if u going in that range, then better find a full frame body.... those cameras are just mammoth when it comes to shooting RAW format. But i wouldnt say go for canon or nikon...... my dad has nikon d7000 and he thinks its the best camera.... and i have canon 550d and i think its very good

4.3 is crap...... still it has a long way to goo..
HOWEVER there is another technology.. which works like the dslr but the mirror actually doesnt move.. its in one of the sony *** camera.. it cost £600 but gives u 10fps.... that is as high as cameras for £2000+ ...
and the video auto focus is pin drop sharp...

please note that DxOMark scores are based on individual pixels, that is when viewed at 100%. (and probably normalized to 8mp if i understood correct)

in simple words
d7000 16mp sensor, that has pretty much same quality as 16mp sensor in 1dm4, gets high marks (80vs 74) since its actually smaller.

hence the result represents the sensor quality, not picture quality.

that said, all these cameras are amazingly good, the weakest link usually is the eye
