A little Review (desi style)
i have been with the device for 1 day but found that the piece is a bit faulty... i will not bash the product for it being faulty as it can happen with any company so lets pass on.
EXTERNAL
PROS
1) device is very solid. no creaks or squeaks on the phone.
2) the phone has less painted parts. which means the device will not be faded over time like many HTC/NOKIA models.
3) phone is very light and thin.
CONS
1) G S2 feels very ordinary. with a plain front and and plain back, it looks like any other Android device. Its not a bad thing but a top of the line device of this class should at least look exclusive and easily distinguished from the other cheaper models.
2) the phone is all plastic. this is a good thing and a bad thing. Good because it makes the device really light bad because it makes the device feel and look very ordinary.
3) the memory card is not hot swappable... it means that u will have to take out the battery all the time to change the memory card.
INTERNAL
PROS
1) very very fast device. its like a touch on the screen and u are on the desired task or menu.
2) GPS works very well indeed. Its as fast as it can get.
3) downloading speed is ultra fast... with a 5mps connection of mine, the phone dl's contents faster then any other phone i have used.
4) the front camera is 2 megapixel... its actually much much better then the facetime camera on my iphone4 and ipad2.
5) volume is loud and clear. u will have no problems with the calls quality.
6) loudspeaker is loud and is pretty much better then alot of recent models i have used currently.
7) did i mention its a very fast device? double check on that!!.
8) videos, gallery , photo browsing etc all open in a flash....
CONS
1) the internet browser provided with the phone has no "DESKTOP" view mode. I had to download Opera for desktop mode pages.
2) Volume through headphones is ordinary... sounds very much like my Bold2. but nothing close to the iphones.
3) with the headphones , if u playing music and you get a call, the call volume becomes extremely low... you can hardly hear the person..
4) while listening to music, if you switch on the camera, the music will stop..
for security ? or crippled multi tasking dunno.........
5) A very confused Device..... dunno if it should be called an ANDROID phone or a SAMSUNG phone. u have to log in to the gmail account to used the market. but then u also have to log in the samsung account to use the samsung market..... 1 mobile two market.... Y ?
6) the starting logo is horrible... its exactly the same as the galaxy 1. looks as if it jitters and lags... its not a very smooth animation.
7) altho the phone is generally very very fast, yet you can see noticeable lag on certain parts of the games and scrolling through the market apps.
Well folks, this is all what i have noticed so far... i see alot of software oriented problems rather then hardware.. therefore samsung shouldnt be accused of these problems i suppose.. its just the way android works i suppose.
