It doesn't. The M/T versions have better mileage anyday. The A/T reduces the mileage quite a bit. Again this car isn't meant for mileage so why bother calculating.

A/T prices are actually higher even though Type-S costs a bit more from Japan.

there are 2 models in rx8
typeE (come with auto trany and manual 5speed) and typeS come only with 6 speed forward manual transmission!
