This is the same bird previously shown in black and white. I waited for quite a while for it to move to this spot where the sun was highlighting its golden edged feathers. Such a regal bird!

Walking along the Erie Canal is one of my favorite pastimes, one reason being the rich variety of waterfowl in the canal. In spring, lots of chicks can be seen, which by late summer are ready to fly away to the South before winter comes. I spotted these Mallard ducks a few days ago.
