Enjoying ice cream by the canal at sunset is a favorite pastime for many. This is a hand held exposure of half a second and I think it came out pretty well, except for the lady on the extreme right who moved a little bit.

This boat is called the Colonial Belle and runs dinner cruises along the Erie Canal. It is based in a little town called Fairport to the east of Rochester, and is a popular choice for many wanting to see the canal.

One interesting feature of the cruise is that every time the boat passes under a bridge, a bell is rung, so that people on the top deck can sit down before the bridge comes up due to the low clearance.
