Finally coming up with my review of this Gorgeous Altis Grande Cvti..
PROS:
Smooth Drive, Soft Suspension, Powerful Engine, New 7 Speed Cvti Transmission with Seamless shifting, Fuel Efficient, Noiseless and Spacious Cabin, Paddle Shifts, Android Based Navigation system with Sygic and Internet connectivity, Grande Comes with standard bucket type leather seats, Rear seats are reclining and split fold for accommodating bigger things in boot.. Rain sensor Auto wipers
CONS:
No Immobilizer, No Climate Control, Just One Airbag, No Jack-Knife Key, No Mud Flaps, Poor Quality Rear View Camera, Nav unit cannot play CD/DVD
Since I own 9th gen Civic Oriel Prosmatec since 2 years, so i think i m in a better position now to compare both. Earlier had Altis 1.8 2005 and Civic Reborn 2007 together and at that time Altis was no way close to Civic but this time Corolla has surprised me and Civic had disappointed a bit.. Disappointed bcoz when i was driving my much awaited 9th gen Civic from showroom to home, the first feel of suspension was a big let down and i had a strong feeling that Honda has messed up with the suspension and a 2.5 Million Car doesnt deserve this. Thought may be its bcoz of Euro Stars but even changing the tires to Yokohama Advan DB didnt help much..
Now coming back to Grande...
Car looks good, Infact very good and much better than all previous models of Corolla and i guess there is no second opinion abt that. Initially wanted to go for Gli because of previous 'just okay experience' of Altis but finally decided to go for top of the line Grande after looking at the overwhelming response. And infact.. for the first time ever a Corolla was actually feeling better than Civic.. the first day i drove it to home from Showroom..
EXTERIOR:
Much has already been said and talked abt exterior so wont like to get into details.. Just that its sharp edges and curves, chrome details and attractive head and tail lights make it a head turner.
INTERIOR:
Initially it gives a feeling of 70's and many people didnt like this but after time it starts growing on you and infact its beauty lies in its simplicity. Plus the beautiful meter cluster with blue illumination and multi information display make it look awesome. Android Navigation Unit is probably the best available so far in locally assembled cars with multiple connecting options. The padded two tone beige and black interior feels solid and not at all cheap or hard. The round knobs are however disappointing. Gate type shift lever is nice. Bucket type leather seats are soft and comfortable. Leg room is enormous both in front and rear as compared to Civic which has a squeezed rear leg space.. Rear seats can be reclined for comfort and split fold for luggage. Cabin is noiseless..
DRIVE:
smooth, powerful, soft suspension, excellent road grip and braking.
though i m not sure whichone is more fast, civic or grande
