Some time around an year ago i found this roof console from Shershah of an old honda civic which i was sure to discarded or wasted by the shop owner. Although it was not in good nick because the coating on the foam that originally comes on it. the price was dirt cheap and it goat almost everything on it so i bought it.

Now after long waiting i found a guy who did colored it with a technique in such a way that its foam was not damaged. after paint i installed it in my mehran with some mods. Things needed to do was to remove the roof which was sticked by glue at 4 points by PS. it came off super easy.

then i stick namda on the inside for heat proofing. Used a single roof center patti of suzuki highroof. A little adjustment done by cutting it from one side, made a hole in center on the patti so that it holds the console. little cut was also made where roof light originally comes so that the metal strip of console can pass through. All of this was done with the help of my dentar and voila.

@nnabeel bhai! you attached one end at the rear view mirror side with the help of the Hiroof's Metal Brace! how did you managed the other end! i have seen these in shershah and they ask good money for these!

also the original one have this meters i dont know what they are used for did you throw them away

Tbh I am seeing this roof console installing n mehru and suzuki carry dabba from ages, and i was always thibking whats the practical use of this console, or its worth installing it ?

Basically an 80s garnish theme. The later 85 Civic had a storage comparment too in the overhead console... I frankly don't know...

Its a nice addition but do you know you install it on the wrong place in 90s model i have seen this clock was next to the choke on left side. where in todays car pre is install, right side of the pre

The console comes with a metal plate already. i have connected it with the help on screws on the roof metal frame near the mirror area while i have used highroof metal patti at the centre of the roof . normally the roof of mehran doesnt have metal patti but khybers, charades and civics have it.

Yes civic in that era came with many options just like charades....and the roof console came from 78-85 models. the one i have used is from an 79 model. the ones u have seen in shershah are from 83 onwards.
Some have single lights and some have more than two even there was a mileage meter in it and i dont know how that works. attached is another example of 83 model console.

mine had one also but i took it out as i cant find any idea how to use it.

Basically it has to be painted the same color as my car and i am looking for a used bonnet to make a proper hood scoop with air intake.

and yes i am also planning to make the car color combination in black and golden. will share some more mods soon.

yes i know. but i find that spot easily accessible and visible. and there is the only place behind dash board where i can find some space to put it.

Old ones comes besides the radio near choke, but new models have pre installed USB player and there is no space left.

Sunlight doesnt have any effect on the clock if its running or parked?

basically it is a clock for cars. originally it came with suzuki fx and then later models of alto/mehran japanese models. so the sunlight doesnt affect it. if u want to buy similar clock, it is available in rimpa plaza market.

check the clock that came in indian maruti 800. how beautiful and vintage it looks.

Yes we have owned a Civic 84 it had all the options lovely beautiful car it was a very long time ago! These were like Poor Man's Mercs
