SUZUKI MEHRAN – FUEL LID DIY.
HI Everyone,
As you have already seen my posts for some modifications done in thread “Suzuki mehran Mods”.
Now presenting to you another DIY which is very easy and can be done in an hour or so.
Objective:
Basically the idea was to open the fuel lid door while sitting in the car instead of by using the keys..which is a hassle when you have to switch off the car and handover keys to the pump guy for filling the fuel.
After going thru little brain storming and getting ideas what to and how to do it, I have examined the fuel lids of Suzuki alto and cultus to get an idea how the target can be achieved.
While doing a DIY, one must remember to arrange the things which should be easily available, compatible and off course should be cheap.
Required Parts:
1. Fuel & Diggi Strainer Lever
2. Cable for fuel lid
3. Lock mechanism required at fuel filer mechanism
4. Drill machine with steel bit
5. New Fuel lid plate (to be used while original will be removed)
Cost:
1. Fuel & Diggi Strainer Lever – Rs.200/-
2. Cable for fuel lid – Rs. 250/-
3. Lock mechanism required at fuel filer mechanism Rs. 200/-
4. Drill machine with steel bit – (already at home)
5. New Fuel lid plate (to be used while original will be removed). Rs. 100/-
All the above parts used were from Suzuki cultus except for fuel lid plate which was mehrans. Pictures are attached in sequence for parts. after that i will post step by step process pics.
