My first thread here on PW,

Posting some memories from the trip carried out in year 2008 (I hope there is no restriction at PW to post recent trips only!)

So the three fast Friends..... Ikram, AbdulRehman and Me(Asim) started their journey in Late august. Further details will come with pix.......... Enjoy!

We travelled on local transport from Lahore to Mansehra, onward to Balakot on a Hiace,
Some remains of 2005 earthquake as we crossed Balakot.

I will be posting detailed journey to Aansoo Lake. Waleed, all the best for your trip, i believe it will be difficult to make it to Aansso lake this part of the year due to snow. Better to consult some travel Guru!

Towards Lake Saif-ul-Malook

First Views of the Lake

We reached Saif-ul-Malook early in the morning, found some boats waiting for the visitors,

One group of youngsters joined us at the lake and we hired a few horses. Rs.700 per horse as far as i remember.
So, here we begin our journey to Aansoo Lake.

Looking back towards Saif-ul-Maluk

My horse was a bit lazy, a bit nervy(may be didn't sleep the previous night). To me he was a broiler:)
For every action of mine, his reaction was delayed by 4-5 seconds, violated Newton's third law time and again.
Ikram's and AbdulRehman's horses were strong and happy.

I love this place.......Out of this world!!!
