I have few questions to ask.
1 When is babusar opening?
2 Can I go to Chilam from Astore at Mehran?
3 If it is possible, Can I hire a jeep from chilam for Bara pani at Deosai?
4 If it is not possible, can I travel from Astore to Bara pani and back by Jeep in one day?
5 How much will it cost by jeep?
6 As I am travelling with family, Is there any reasonable place to stay at Chilam?
7 Is it feasible to travel to this route after 20th June?

brother Asifcae is very right. I shall add a few things.
1.Could be between mid June to end June, I am also waiting for that. When it opens, I mean the track from Butakundi/Jalkhad to Babusar top, initially its usually not good for small vehicles/cars.
2.Yes. but questions rises where will you stay at Astore. PTDC motel, two other rest houses are situated at Rama, at the foothill of Nangaparbat, one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Rama is several kilometers steep & curly narrow road from Astore city. If you stay at a mediocre hotel inside Astore city then its OK. Otherwise, climbing from Astore to Rama on Mehran by a non-local driver is doubtful. If you climb that then Astore to Chilam is lot easier.
3. Yes, there are a few jeeps that run to and from Chilam. Try to reach Chilam as early in the morning as possible. As far as I remember, its around 2 hours drive from Astore. Chilam is a military area so please keep intact your identification.
4.Yes but costly.
6. There is an army officers mess. They can provide you meal on way back from bara pani, if requested in time while leaving for bara pani from chilam. Probably they can arrange your stay but I am not sure. When I requested for family stay in Minimarg. The brigadier at Minimarg agreed for that. God bless him always. though I couldn't find time to go there. If you have time do visit Minimarg.

How much time from Chilam. Whether I can go on car, if jeep is hired how much will it cost? Where to park car? please guide.

Dear, most of the info about distance, altitude, travelling time can be obtained from google maps and google earth. As far as I remember, it was about one hand half hour from Chilam chowky. No car from Chilam onward, you need 4x4. Sometimes jeep is available at Chilam chowky but it is a chance. Better hire jeep from Astore. Car can be parked at Chilam. It is a military setup. They are cooperative. from here you can either go to deosai or to Minimarg. No permission required for deosai. however, you need permission for minimarg. If you have proper identification they usually grant permission. Jeep from Astore to minimarg and back will charge, I think, around Rs.10000. If by chance you get a jeep from Chilam, it will charge about half of that.
