First of all looks are subjective but yahan soorat seerat ki behs hai.. mostly haven't driven a Grande and are commenting on the quality of drive.. interior exterior finish is far better than civic..and that does not need to be proved. Just have a look at both cars at showroom and then look at the interior door handles and sunroof cover after 6 months.... Turbo and oriel have different cvts and honda manual also proves that. Oriel is rubber band cvt and grande and turbo are way better..Rear hump basically changes car to 4 seater rather than 5.

Civic design was awesome but buying decision involves so many things and quality is just one of them..civic used to outclass grande in sales till mid 2017 and after the facelift sales just shoot up.. although Honda fixed the welding finish in door but what about engine bay..welds..? ...40:60 rear seats are itself very important in giving comfort to pessengers and flat floor does wonders for the person sitting in person.someone here compared hump with German cars..bhai wo rear wheel bhi hotii hain.

Not a Civic owner but I've heard a few things about Civic from Pakistani Youtubers that have experienced its drive quality.

Though the exterior may look appealing to the eyes the quality isn't that all, Civic is known to have a sunroof issue, where the cover unfolds with the slightest jerk.

Paint issues are present, low-quality paint is used which is prone to wear out with the slightest insult.

The car is low, making it only compatible in urban areas. My friend sold his 2017 Civic just because it used to hit the bumps, even tilting the car can't assure that it would pass safely. So there is that.

Civic tires are General tires, is that what I heard?
Well... Grande has Yokohama Japanese tires which are quite unnoisy and keeps the cabin peaceful.
My ’16 Altis has Euro Star tires (General tires) and my uncle owns an FL Grande, his cabin is less noisy than mine.

Every car has issues, take every comment into account then decide for a better and safer car. Allah behther karay.

@omer44 Almost 100% with an Oriel + NAVIGATION - LEATHER INTERIOR (I like the interior part but the seats apparently are not comfortable plus Pakistani summer :/). What about you? My dad went and they didn’t have one with a fabric on display, have you seen one, any thoughts?

My friend has a 1.8 fabric finish - it becomes dirty really quick - the side door panels. Well atleast in his case. The cnetre armrest in fabric is ok - nothing to complain about. Its a black finish so I like that.

Even im not sold completely on the leather options - will read up some more on how bad leather seats are in summer and in karachi weather. Plus I want a black finish - I think the leather seats are beige?

Side door panels are also going to be beige leather.

Ive asked another friend who has the 1.5 Turbo to send me some pics. I think the 1.5 turbo has the complete leather option. Im not in Pakistan at the moment but when I return next week will take a look at both cars (1.8 Fabric vs 1.5 leather) and finalise however Im tempted to go without the leather option....

Which colour Civic (exterior) are you planning?

@omer44 Change of plans since yesterday, didn't know that leather seats translate to leather garnish on the doors. Oriel+NAV+Leather in WHITE. Not a huge fan of White but buying it for dad and he likes white so

I really hope there is not a comfort difference in both the seats. How is it even possible btw? Seat cushioning and everything should still be the same, right irrespective of fabric/leather or am I missing something?

p.s., yeah I do think they only come in beige leather

I’m going back and looking at the Altis grande again. Whichever car has the more comfortable drive in terms of suspension, bumps and luxury. The civic gave me more of a sports feel.... so will test drive the altis again.

@omer44 bumping this thread again ... what did you do? We held back because of pak-India tensions and now the $ is up by another 10% FED ... Meanwhile they have stopped taking Altis 1.6 booking, such a moron show ....

Anybody has any idea why 1.6 booking has been put to a halt?

haha and here I was thinking to myself that I should have been smart like ProudPaki and just placed the order....

I didnt book anything as I was traveling and when I finally decided the govt put a 10% duty on it.

I had decided on the Altis grande simply because the most imprtant things for me:
1. Suspension for bumps etc
2. Low seats of the civic - im a big guy with a bad knee so the civic would have been too low
3. Also not such a car enthusiast so dont take care of my car that often.. guessing the corolla needs less care than the civic?
4. Also wanted to try a non-Honda car as well

Honestly im not going for 20-22 lakh option... the 1.6 seems like a good buy but then I thought since im saving money for not going for the altis whats the cheapest best option I can come up with....

and I am honestly tempted with the Suzuki ciaz..... Its an imported car so thats a huge plus. Im traveling again and will be back in April and will test drive my friends Ciaz. I want to book and get it before June/July cause im pretty sure when the new budget comes there will be extra taxes on all cars....

Not sure about the non-booking of 1.6 - Im guessing thats the car uve choosen?
