I've bought an 07 2.0D corolla last year mainly for longer routes. After a round trip to Qta, i noticed my engine was making a loud knocking sound from single cylinder(left cylinder from the front)when cold which reduced when the engine got warm but did not completely fade away, and started producing white smoke at cold or hot operating temperature throughout the rev range, plus black smoke under even a slight load and puffed a **** load of it if accelerator padel was fully depressed.
Now im back in karachi and I've been to 4-5 mechanics, and all of them advised me for a complete engine rebuild. most of them just pulled the dipstick to see for blow by/smoke, and thats it. no problems with Cold and hot start!
I need someone that has knowledge about diesel engines here in karachi to diagnose and repair/calibrate what needs to be repairing/calibrating i.e fuel pump, valves timing etc. i absolutely adore diesel engines, but now regretting buying it since i cant get hold of a single decent mechanic.
The ODO read 77800km at the time of purchase but i was almost 100% sure it was reversed since the brake, accelerator and clutch rubber pedals were worn to the metal and the suspension was all bad, but still i bought it because it was a good bargain.sorry if the question got a bit lengthy need some help asap as i cant live with this noisy clunky and smoking car, plus its really embarrassing puffing smoke at people's new and shiny cars.
