@ch.talal well u are quite right, always go for a branded generator. And so far I am a user of Honda generators, very reliable gens in gas. They don’t even have a tank for petrol; it’s made and designed purely for gas compared to Chinese gens used nowadays. I have used the 5k gen as well, optimal for running a single 1.5 ton A/C and rest of house held appliances without giving out a sweat but as ch.tatal suggests 2 units will overload it , and yet they are quite expensive. Like I don’t know the exact model but 5k has a retail of almost (if I am not wrong) 2.6 lacs. And so the 10k will be even more expensive. The cool part is that these gens are made in JAPAN. Hence u can possibly imagine how reliable Honda is. I am currently using it as a secondary gen , I have made a local gen here by new power ( very famous custom generator makers in Peshawar ) , having the famous Toyota 3S ( 2000 CC 20 valve ) and a 18kVA dynamo . Its runs on pure gas nothing else which can of Couse be sometimes a problem in case of gas load shedding. It smoothly runs the whole house without breaking a sweat (3 Splits and 1 window unit and other house appliances). While using this generator in summer, I use the Honda in winters because the Honda has very less gas consumption (That’s the main point of branded stuff, they come well optimized from the manufacturer) compared to the 3S. It uses gas accordingly to the load and in winters normally only lights and the refrigerators are used. And the 3S I haven’t seen any difference in gas consumption with and without load (like it sucks everything towards its self).
So now its upon you to decide, if u got good budget go for branded and if u can keep it on petrol or diesel I will recommend you that the most to go for petrol or diesel generators. But if you don’t have any of the above then go for a custom gen by a good mechanic, pre-study about the mechanic from friends family neighbor’s anybody at all who has made one. (It’s very important that u do that otherwise your gen will be full of problems the next day you bring it and you definitely don’t want that.) As for your case go for any decent 1300CC to 1600CC 16 Valve engine with a 15kVA Dynamo,
And can’t predict the gas consumption of those, mine consumes allot , like in summers my gas bill ranges from 8k to 24k depending on the load shedding .
