Need a little help!

AOA guys i m gonna start a little diy of ma own of led's but the problemo is that i have purchased the led's but dont knw where to give the power to leds because connecting directly to the battery would likely burn em ....m a newbie to all this stuff so dont knw much abt connecting fuses etc i own a cultus 2008 model one which comes with a builtin pioneer cdplayer....was thinking of connecting with the cigar lighter but there are four wires with the cigar lighter that confuses mme which one to connect with??? connecting with the dome light would look wierd hence a wire hanging from the dome light to the ground if u knw what i am saying ...plz helpppp

You need a multimeter to assess the voltage from those wires and use one which gives you 12 volts. There is a thread of cultus restoration where a guy installed numerous led's in his car with tutorial. You might find it. It is somewhere in Body Work section

Leds normally run off 3v. You'll require resistors to make them work. Usually a 470ohm resistor is enough to make an led work without burning.

Just Connect 1kOhm resistor as it is easily available...less than 1kOhm resistors wont be easy to fine...and 1k resistors works perfectly fine with LEDs in series and connest LEDs +ve and -ve terminal correctly ...if connections are wrong they won't work but they won't get damage either,if resistor is connected correctly,,,it doesnt matter fron where you give it a connection....do as you feel easy and looks neat...

these r the leds m talking abt led strips i dont think they really need resistors

The led strips already have resistors. You just feed them 12v.

you can get 12v directly from the following sources:
directly from battery(use fuse)
from cigeratte lighter
from cd player.there is a pink wire.it is always live

i have a pioneer cd player can u show me the PINK wire by any pic and that will only be one pink wire is that the hot wire to be connected by the led's red wire or is that to be connected with the black wire

do not have a pic ri8 now.i suggest to connect to the cigar lighter for positive.for negative,connect to any body part

two wires are for the cigar lighter and the other two are for the ash tray bulb.dont remember the color combinations ri8 now
