Need advice for a trip to Dhirkot AJK

I couldn't find much info on this beautiful destination in the forums. I'd appreciate if someone can share their personal experience regarding:

1. Road condition from Islamabad to Dhirkot (Diyar Resorts), especially after Kohala bridge i.e.
   is it too steep?
   doable on a manual BRV or jeep only?
   safe to drive in evening after Maghreb?

2. points of interest near this resort?

3. weather conditions over the next 2-3 weeks?

am different class of traveler i go where the road goes and my vehicle endurance can take me. No holds barred.

am not tagging asifcae for reason of death of his mother, this morning he may not be connecting to PW for few days.

@capsat thank you for tagging me...you are very kind as I am certainly not a nomad as compared to your distinguished short list. I'm afraid I haven't ventured beyond Kohala on that route. The roads up to Kohala bridge may be a little steep but easily doable in any car. Beyond that, the distinguished experts would be able to shed some light.

weather is changing north of Lahore / Rwp sunset is taking place around 5.30pm onwards, The pitch dark in mountain terrain and heavy public vehicles with high beams approach is bit tricky to handle for urban drivers. driving after sunset is not recommended for novices specially if family is onboard.

1. Have been there a few years ago so not sure about the current condition of the road.
   Road use to be rough uptil Kohala bridge and its (or lets say, use to be good) good after that.
   It is a bit steep but not too much and a BRV should easily do it if not overloaded.

2. There is a park near Dhirkot
   There is a mountain top as well
   The guys at the resort will have alot more info on what to do and you can check with them before going

3. Weather should be in range of 10-20 C.
   AccuWeather is a good source to check before leaving

I am currently at Dhirkot. The road is easily doable for any car. No issues. Perfect road till Dhirkot.

Salam, I was in that area around mid October 2021:
- big road construction project going on at Barohi on Azad Pattan - Kahuta road
- Bagh to Sudhan Gali road is OK till Ganga Choti... after that (ZalZal lake area) road is no poor shape due to landsliding

Did you use the Muree expressway extension route to reach Kohala or the Bhurban route?
And how was the resort experience?
