Need Advice on a Toyota Corolla Axio 2007-12? :/

Hey guys, hope you all are doing good.

I wanted to inquire about the Toyota Corolla Axio which was imported between 2011-13, the 2007 model. I had the following questions in mind regarding the car.

1. Does it have good resale value?
2. Does it sell quickly?
3. Is it a market car?
4. Are spare parts easily available?
5. Is the drive as same as the Premio or is it a little below par?
6. Does it have good fuel economy? How is its fuel economy in the city as well as on the highway?
7. Which version is better in terms of resale and fuel economy, the 1.5L or the 1.8L?
8. Do both versions have the same resale rate and value?
9. Does its navigation unit work in Pakistan?
10. Is it possible to change the navigation unit to English from Japanese?
11. Does the car handle well on high speeds and is it comfortable for long journeys?
12. Is the engine responsive?
13. Does it come with cruise-control?
14. How effective is the air-conditioner?
15. Is the 1.5L version under-powered in any way?

8. Do both versions have the same resale rate and value? NO
9. Does its navigation unit work in Pakistan? NO
10. Is it possible to change the navigation unit to English from Japanese? NO
11. Does the car handle well on high speeds and is it comfortable for long journeys? It depend on your driving habits
12. Is the engine responsive? as in ??
13. Does it come with cruise-control? only selected variants have cruise-control
14. How effective is the air-conditioner? Its Good if in original setup and not bogged locally
15. Is the 1.5L version under-powered in any way? AXIO Variants are all CVT

all JDM 1.5 & above models carry almost the same answers in my opinion. Both AXIO & PREMIO are CVT transmission vehicle with 1.5, 1.6 & 1.8 engines.

• BTW, with due respect, if you are about to spend such amount why not look for a 2 year old local PKDM vehicle.

The JDMs when land in PK are already 3~5 year old, afterwards used abused locally with no maintenance history. means you get an 5/ 8 year old vehicle.

2 year old PKDM will be a better choice if HUNTED with patience nicely maintained vehicle can be sourced; again its my opinion. - you have choice to use / spend your money wisely

Axio is a superior class of corolla and is a very very good comfortable and powerful car .... it has more resale in 1500cc with 2wd option ... in 1800 its called axio luxel but in 1800 i will recommend premio ....japaneser car navigation maps dont work in pakistan but rest tv dvd and multimedia steering works fine .... spare parts are easily available ... cruise control is not available in axio and premio

I have experience with CVTs, my Civic hybrid uses a CVT too. CVTs have better fuel economy as compared to regular automatics from my experience.
There is not much choice in PKDM vehicles, you either get a Civic or a Corolla that's it, whereas if you go for something JDM, you can get a Corolla Axio, Premio, Prius, Insight etc. PDKM cars don't have good build quality nor do they have any safety features (my Civic hybrid as 8 airbags and VSA for that matter). Only the PKDM Civic comes with 2 airbags but no VSA. JDM vehicles have lots more features and better drive than any PKDM car.
I may look into the 9th gen PKDM Civic if I don't find a good JDM car though.

Premio and Axio are basically in the same price bracket, from 15-20 lacs usually. Does a Premio have better resale than a Corolla Axio? Is it better for long term use?

But, I recently checked PW listings and there were less than 900 Corolla Axios for sale there. So, does that mean that they have slow resale?

IMO the amount you'd be paying for an Axio it would be better to get an Altis 1.6 (10th gen) if you can sacrifice a few options and comfort
The thing is a 2007 Axio would have been fairly used by now and would need major service/maintenance and 2010 models are pretty darn expensive

Well personally for a toyota lover having a budget of 15-16 lac i recommend our gli auto with 1.6 L dual vvti engine with powerful engine and fuel economy with newer model ... the only basic thing missing is air bags ... rest its a nice car

There is one big problem though. We have never kept a PKDM car before, only a 2007 City IDSI for a month or so. My father badly disliked the quality of the dashboard, "tuk tuk tuk" sounds came from it. We bought the car new in 2007 and sold it quickly as my father hated its AC too. We later bought an imported Mitsubish Lancer, the 1.6L version which was waaay better than the City. We've only kept imported cars till now.
Is the 9th gen Civic a good choice considering the PKDM market?

As most people here have advised me not to go for an Axio, I won't. I may look into a Premio or a Prius. What do you say?

i'd recommend with such budget ask @sharabhi to help you source a JDM car. Or else try PKDM 2012-13 ALTIS

no doubt a premio would be better or if you can compromise abit on resale then consider getting an Allion
its pretty much the same as a Premio except the the lights and bumpers plus its cheaper then a Premio

I have a manual Axio 2008 and its a great car. Its been three years and i havent been to a mechanic so far. The cars air-conditioning is way better than local made cars. If you budget can go for a premio then its premio is like an upgrade for Axio, its a better a car in every way but then it has low resale. But don't ever go for local manufactured instead of Axio. Axio is better in many ways also considering the safety aspects the car is much more well manufactured and equipped with airbags that will work.

Axio was supposed to be a budget car, in 15 lac, one could easily get a car with handy features and decent horsepower of 1500cc. All these latest customs duties and taxes just negated what i said.

In 2022 ...I bought axio 2007 and it's much much better than plastic loaded pkdm
