Need Advice on Catalytic Converter Replacement

Aoa,

I have my Swift 2012 (250K odo, PK model) for past 5.5 years. It's catalytic converter was cleaned by "acid" by previous owner's mechanic (probably without owner's knowledge), as per Motor Clean Islamabad when I went there about 5 years ago. They showed the jaali of rust color, and a small break as well.

New Catalytic is quite expensive.

If I am to get a used Japanese (kabli) Catalytic converter, is it a good idea? And if yes, where can I get a reliable one from?

I visited Chah Sultan and saw what's available in Japan Market and Mian Aziz there, as well as Mohtram guy's shop. What's available there looked too dirty, and not great condition.

Thoughts? I can even go to Lahore, Peshawar if someone knows a reliable source.

Kabli ones will be dirty but if they are in one piece, you may get one and get it cleaned professionally before installation. Make sure to get it cleaned from a good professional workshop who use proper cleaning solutions instead of just acid as it will ruin the CAT.
