Need Advice - Suzuki Alto or Suzuki Cultus

I'm looking for a small car for my home use and personally like Cultus. I have a budget of around Rs. 650K. I've found Cultus VXRi/VXRiCNG model ranging from 2007-2009.

One of my cousins has advised to go for Suzuki Alto which will be of 2011-2012 model (which will be latest as compared to 2007-2009).

However I'm more inclined towards Cultus due to its spacious nature n that will be 1000CC car as well but I need a more fuel efficient car!

I need sincere suggestion with reference to better fuel economy as this is the main reason for going for a smaller car.

I hope that someone can resolve my confusion!

Cultus all the way.i owned alto 2011 model.it was a good car but not good enough.engine bohot delicate hai uska.cultus on other hand has a good reputation in its segment.but finding a clean 2007/8 cultus would b very hard.bol fr tht

And cultus efi is way more fuel efficient than alto

Go for Cultus, preferably EFI Cultus.

Alto gives very bad fuel economy due to it's outdated engine. On the other hand, Cultus has a refined and better engine w.r.t. Alto, that's why it's fuel efficiency is a bit better.
Just a rough idea; Alto: 7-9 kmpl within City, Cultus: 10-12 kmpl within City.

And you're talking about 2010-2012 model of Alto vs 2007-2009 model Cultus, right?

Nope. It is general, and not specific to any particular model year.

Ok. Actually my cousin is insisting me to go for a newer model car whereas my sole purpose of having the second car is to get a fuel efficient car. Currently I have Honda Civic VTI Oriel 2006 Model and it gives me around 7-8 within city and if I get Alto, that will serve no purpose at all.

I think then I should go for Cultus be it an older model.

Yes. If your priority is a fuel efficient car, look for the car and not the model year!
You should go for Cultus, preferably EFI (if you can afford and get one in good condition) even if it's old, instead of Alto.

Any idea about Daihatsu Coure, what milage does it give within city with and without ac?

No idea regarding Daihatsu Coure; it's mileage and performance (with/without AC). I would prefer Cultus over Coure, due to its bigger engine, fuel efficiency, and cheap & easy maintenance.

if one of your main concern is fuel efficiency than

1) Look for a Cultus with no CNG installed since the beginning.
2) Make sure you the guy selling to you is not making a fool out of you by ONLY saying best fuel average etc, TEST IT OUT!

Most of the time carburetor is effed up to an extent that no matter which mechanic you take it to, it won't give you decent mileage.

Any idea about the Japanese Car. An option of getting the Automatic car is also under consideration as the car shall be driven by my wife as well. So it'll be easy for her to drive an automatic car rather than a manual car.

In my range there are several 2008 automatic cars, which mainly include Daihatsu Mira but that are 2 doors car. On the other hand, I've found Daihatsu Esse as well as Subaru Pleo (I read somewhere that its also called Mira or is an equivalent to Mira).

So if any one of you have any idea about Pleo, shall appreciate its feedback, specially with respect to fuel milage.

Bro, all 660 cc used JDMs are almost same w.r.t. engine and fuel economy. Just brand, make, model, shashkas, etc. decide their prices / fate.
Definitely, one can never get 2014-2015 model in 650,000 PKR (No offense to anyone). 2006-2008 Models hi milein gey, but they might be extremely abused / misused.
Aapko 660 cc mein jo b used JDM car milti hai, ley lein. Model / Brand p na jyein. But Yes, ye zrur ensure karein k gari harr lehaz sey perfect running condition mein ho, and for that, you may have to compromise / play between 02 door or 04 door, brand, model year, color, mileage / odo reading, etc. Engine, suspension, transmission p koi compromise nai hona chaheye, and the vehicle should also not be accidental (major as well as minor) at the same time. Scratches / paint / spray, etc. zyada issue nai hai.
Do get your vehicle inspected by pakwheels carsure team before buying, for complete peace of mind.

Thanks Basit for all the advises and for now after so many days of searching for a small car for domestic use at home. I'm thinking of getting a MEHRAN for that...coz in my budget of around 650K, I might be able to get a neat n clean n less driven car of 2014+ model which will ultimately have a better working engine, less wear and tear and neatness as compared to a 2006-2009 model.

What you suggest?
