Need Advice: Thinking About Switching My Altis 1.6 Auto to CNG

I have a Corolla Altis 1.6 auto 2015. Petrol prices have completely broken my back. We travel a lot as a family and I just can’t keep up with the rising fuel costs anymore.

I know petrol is way better in terms of engine performance and smoothness. No debate there. But the way this current government has messed things up, I’m seriously thinking about getting CNG installed.

Is it a wise decision? Will it actually reduce my expenses in the long run? Also, if anyone here has already done it, what mileage can I expect with CNG on an auto 1.6 Altis? Do u know someone who has done this before?

Need some real advice before I take a step. This fuel situation is becoming unbearable.

Diesel cars have a lower cost per km compared to petrol cars. Just a thought for you.

cng is far more expensive compared to liquid fuel. an altis 1600 with correct oil grade reasonably tuned can provide you 11+ km/ltr with ac in city ride and long run 13+ km/ltr.
Gas prices will be on constant rise from Sept 2025 till March 2026, while petrol & diesel price will significantly drop and stablise around Rs. 255 260 per liter for petrol for last quarter 2025

Unfortunately no decent deisel sedan is available in the market.

What is the fuel average you are currently getting from your car? I have Toyota Corolla Gli 1.6 Auto, it gives me around 12-13 km/l in Lahore city with AC and on highway it gives around 17 km/l on normal foot (average speeds 80-100 km/h) and around 16-17 km/l on Motorway on speeds 100-120 km/h.

long term cng will destroy your engine...

you may have to cut your trips....

11-13km in city with Ac,

In long it can touch 17 with ac easily at 100-110 speed, and goes to 18-19km/litre with ac in 80-90 speed. If you turn off ac and turn it on aftee few minutes, at 80km/hr on motorway, it will touch 20.

CNG only makes sense
if you have a carburetor car doing 6-8 km/ltr on petrol
modern EFI car par faraq hi nahi parna as gas prices gone way up
and efi cars still manage 10ish avg, worst case scenario
