Need Advise of Experts on Mileage Issue with Suzuki Margallah

I changed the radiator recently (just as a precautionary measure) coz water level was reducing in my radiator for a year now, tough no heating issues at all ALHAMD U LILLAH.

Car is margallah G13B.

Installed a Japanese replacement radiator and filled it with water just to verify that there was no reduction in water level.

After repeated checking i have seen that the water level drops (next morning) about 2 inches whenever i top it up in the radiator, however no reduction in the resevoir bottle.

Also there is no further reduction in the water level. i have stopped topping it up. no heating issue or any thing.

please confirm that its the normal water level in the radiator? Also the cap of my new radiator is with steam removal button.

i intend to change the water with a coolent in this week. probably will be shifting to either toyota or zic coolant. I believe suzuki oem coolant is no good.

please confirm regarding lower water level in the radiator consistently (with or without topping it up).

Also the color of water in the new radiator has changed a bit to brownish but not too rusty tough. I have been running the new radiator with tap water for a month now.

urgent help would be helpful.

There is a leak in the system somewhere, Please note that even if the overflow pipe to the bottle has a pin hole leak in it or if the pipe does not go all the way to the bottom of the bottle the system wont be able to suck back the liquid (its like drinking juice from a straw - you cannot drink with a punctured straw)

remove this button type cap and install a good quality cap - SNA makes them, make sure the cap is the correct type too, there are two types of smaller caps one is deeper and one is shallow, while they may fit on other necks the wrong cap will cause problems.

will check for the leaks in the pipe going towards the reservior bottle and will also change the cap with SNA one and will share the findings.

i was experiencing an issue of low voltage on my margalla. i added an extra ground wire to the alternator. Now headlights are much whiter.

i went to my electrician for doing the same.

instead he added a 10 MM wire from positive of battery to the alternator. I am experiencing better pick up and idle. just did this today in the morning so will share the milage impact too.

will share pics.

did he remove or keep the original wire? does this go straight to the battery positive. in my experience, it was just bad contact at the alternator, cleaning the thimble and the post fixed it for me.

Yes it goes straight to the +ve of the battery. No change in original wiring or anything.

I am going through all this just to improve the speed of my wipers. rest everything works perfectly on the ride including defogger etc.

see the yellow wire with green stripe. thats the one. i have not spent any time on this job, just got a long wire , added a thimble and ziptied it, because it was an experiment, now i will make a proper grounding kit from audio grade wire.

for your wipers, first clean the thimble for their ground. if it still doesn't improve, the problem is most probably with the switch (stick).

as for what the electrician did, i would use audio power wire to make a ditto copy of the original wire and replace it. or atleast add a fuse

already the switch stick has been cleaned and verified to be working fine. have experienced the improvement already. this +ve wire adding was just a precautionary measure.

i didn't have the time or tools to take off the alternator, else there is a place under it, meant for the ground cable

ok dear fellows i started experiencing starting issue (for the first time with my ride). had to check the plugs since its the obvious start off point with starting matters. unfortunately one of my new platinum plugs was broken as shown in the pic.

replaced all 4 with BOSH SUPER 4 plugs. real pics attached for reference. costed me 1000 Rs.

went to see my mechanic and found that the vacumm pipe from the carburator which goes to the router to adjust the car advance has become worn and was infact loose and not working. so replaced it.

also another air suction pipe from below the air filter intake which goes to carburator had similar issue. replaced it too.

results are improved milage however decreased pick up. however i can live with that since no racing kind of thing on the mind.

just shared the info might help you guys.

i think since the pipe from the air filter box to the carburetor was worn so the air was getting sucked in freely so the car breathed better and had a slightly better pick.

since the worn pipe was replaced with a new one and now air needs to be sucked through air filter, it has impacted the pick up.
