A.O.A everyone,
I’m planning to buy a 2-door Daihatsu Charade in excellent condition. However, there’s a concern I need help with.
The vehicle shows safe custody clearance on the Excise Department’s website, but when I checked with CPLC, they informed me that:
- The car was snatched and recovered twice,
- And it was stolen and recovered once.
- Currently, it’s marked as "Sell or Not Transferred" in their record.
The CPLC officer advised that I should ask the seller to first transfer the car to his own name. Only then should I proceed with the purchase.
So now, If the seller gets the car transferred in his name and then I buy it from him, will there still be any issues in the future? This will be my first car, so I want to be cautious.
