Need expert review on Peugeot. How it is on offroad or heights like Thandiani?

I am planning to buy Peugeot. But a bit concerned about its performance in northern areas. I have a City 2016 right now and it have been amazing on heights like Thandiani and Nathiaagali. Any suggestions or expert advice?

Better than City. Its horsepower is above 130 Nm. City has 114 Nm. So Peugeot's more horsepower means its performance is definitely better. Go for it.

Peugeot owners reported total engine failure when peugeot 2008 passed through rain water during rains in this last season. Please search this yourself and keep this issue in mind before making the purchase decision.

Also, the timing belt would disintegrate due to it being oil bathed. Causes engine failure.

Also, forget it being able to handle anything off-road very well.

Yeah, universally that is considered a bad design, Ford does that too in it's 1.0L 4 cyl ecoboost engines, shops don't even want to touch it.

Calling Nathiagali or Thandiani northern areas is a bit of a stretch. That being said, even a chingchi can make it to those areas, let alone a pocket rocket like a 2008.

Dude Nathia and thandiani are super carpeted roads even good for low sports cars like Lamborghini or Ferrari.

Any Peugeot will have no issue there.

Also do not take seriously some of the above comments re engine fail in deep water. It can and has happened to any car. It is basically fear mongering based on one incident while other cars where engine seized do not get mentioned.

It depends on location of air intake. You have to be smart about crossing water and not just 'gun it' through the puddle. A lot of tuscons apparently had the same issue.

Any vehicle with a low intake is going to have issues.

I have been thandiani in 2006 on my auto cuore, so sure Peugeot should go easily there.
