Need experts advice about Honda civic timing belt

Salam to all..

I own Honda civic 2005 prosmatic vti..need to know when to change its timing belt as it has dont almost 72K..(69K on petrol and remaing on CNG)..Secondly needs ur opinon about changing Transmission oil or Gear oil?..SHould i change it or what to do abot it?..

As per my knowledge there are 2 views..One is do not change the automatic gear oil and second is to change it after every 50k or before its get dirty....

Needs expert views on both problems plz solve the matter

Timing belt should be replaced after every 100,000 kms,and transmission to be changed after every 40,000 kms

Timing Belt for Honda Civic 05 should be changed at 80,000 Kilometers. Not only the timing belt, but there is also a bearing which needs to be changed along with the timing belt. Honda people call this service as "Eighty".
"Eighty karo yar civic ki".
Also on this 80K service, they will change almost all the fluids in the car. (Dont have idea about the automatic transmission, but for the manual they do change the oil).
After the change of timing belt, another important thing is the Tapets adjustment, which they normally do.

Listen, I bought a second Civic around 120k driven, so I don't really know if the timing belt has been changed or not.

Any idea how can I find out if it has been changed by the previous owner or not?

TIMING BELT SHOULD BE CHANGED AFTER 100000KM AND GEAR OIL SHOUDNT BE CHANGED BECAUSE IN KARACHI IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND A GENUINE TRANSMISON OIL AND IT DOESNT NEED TO BE CHANGED

ignorant people like u dont change the gear oil and get their prosmatec towed from motorway due to transmission failure.

please change the gear oil first thing. dont use it for more hten 40,000 km's

timings belts usually last 100,000 kms. confirm from manual.

i doubt the car in question has a timing belt...it came with a timing chain i suppose which requires no adjustment or replacement

what ever do not ignore transmission oil.....................i change my civic prosmatic transmission oil every 40,000 kms...and timing belt every 60,000 kms..

I have a 2005 EXI PROSMATEC, Honda South changes Timing belt @ 80K and Transmission/gear oil @ 40K KM.

I think its a pretty decent interval.

lol - I love it when people come and say dont change transmission oil - it will ruin your tranmission - its very like saying, dont change your engine oil at all - you wont find the factory oil again.

@Xulfiqar....all who says that dont change ur transmission oil are correct to some extent....actually some manufacturers give life time guarantee for their transmission oil so for that cars one doesnt need to change ATF.....as far as Honda is concerned they dont give life time guarantee in Pakistan so civics in pakistan do need ATF to be changed but yes DONT change your car ATF by roadside mechanics always do that through dealers....

I have a got a honda civic 1998 model, and its done around 106000 km, do i need to do a big service on the car? cuz i went mechanictoday, they told me i need to change my timing belt and some other service? i thought honda civic can last longer more than 100000 km easy.
please help guys.

u must change transmission oil before you get any transmission failure , hondas do have transmission oil check dipstick so do look it and about timing belt i think it last for 100,000 kms . Wait for "cylestine" to shed his knowledge on this forum

for sure your car will last a lot more than 100,000 kms if you take care of it . Changing timing belts and other things are maintenance of car so u should change them and give your car a long life

Oil should be changed with due time.
