Need Help Choosing Between 2006 and 2007 Cultus for First Car Purchase

I'm planning to buy my first car, but I have a limited budget of 7 to 7.5 lacs. I've found two options: a 2007 white Cultus and a 2006 silver Cultus. Can anyone help me understand the differences between them and advise on which one to purchase?The 2007 model is all original with some minor scratches and tiny rust spots. The 2006 model is in good condition too, but the side doors have been repainted. Both cars have engines that are in great shape, but the 2006 one seems cleaner overall. They're both priced the same. Is there anything newer in the 2007 model compared to the 2006? I'm confused and would really appreciate any advice on which one to go for.

At the end of 2007 cultus launched EFI engine which are better than previously used carburettor engine. But in older car models, like in your case, you should look at better condition of car like engine replaced, weak ring piston, suspension, etc

Do they have the same engines or different ones?? PakSuzuki introduced an electronically fuel injected (EFI) 4 cylinder engine towards the end of 2007. Whereas since its release in 2000, the cultus has had the carburetor 3 cyl engine up to mid 2007. So verify which car has which engine.Make sure to get your car checked by a mechanic before purchasing, buy whichever one has the engine in better condition.

On a sidenote, ask both owners what oil they're using, if either one say 20w50, stay away from that car. Cultuses. no matter the engine will use 5w30 engine oil. If you can get both cars on a test drive and compression tested too.

Actually both have old 3 cyl engine that's why both are offering their car at 7 lacs. By the way I am not aware of the engine oil that you've mentioned I will definitely ask owners about this. Can you tell me why it's bad to stay away from 20w50?

Both of the cars suspension everything is good to I have also took mechanic with me he told me both cars are good to go for purchase. Go for a compression test. Irshad at jamil autos, khudadad colony does that. Others do that too i beleive. Read up threads on what that means for engine health, how to check the readings etc.

20w50? and suggestion mai aap 5w30? purani cultus hay its better kay havoline formula 10w30 use kia jae. in my recommendation kyu kay mere paas khud bhi carby mai cultus 2004 hay mai 10w30 he use karta.

Because prolonged use of oils that are too thick does damage to your engine which is often irreversible and costs a lot of money. It's good to stay way from 20w50, it's bad to use it. A car designed for 5w30 using an oil much thicker than that will do no good. Also make sure the car is running at correct temp, something like this. If it is and using the right oil, snatch up the car right away. This way you know the owner actually cared for his car and did not let it succumb to the pressures of uneducated and illiterate mechanics.

operating temp should similar, mine is a bit low because car was warming up, this needle should be exactly in the middle.

you do realize 5w30 and 10w30 are basically the same thing right? w30 viscosity at operating temp is the same for both oils, only difference is cold start/ambient temp difference. Good for you on using the right oil. I use 5w30 fully synethic in my 2006 cultus, 5w makes cold starts much easier and smoother. I was using 10w30 too, I shifted to 5w30.

actually i lived in karachi, or yahan as such koi sardi parhti nai hay to better option 10w ka he hay, btw apka experience kaisa rah 10w say 5w pay shift honay ka?

Performance wise, obviously not much of a change because operating temp is the same. Although cold starts are much smoother because the thinner oil gets to lubricate the engine quicker. I am also in Karachi, not sure what the relevance of that might be. Thinner oil at cold starts is best because it lubricates your engine much quicker, decreasing the chance of increased engine wear and tear during cold starts. How quick does your car get up to temp?
