Need help regarding CPU

Dear All,

For last few days, i was thinking to change my CPU.

I went to the market and took some quotation regarding new PC's

But some people asked me to buy used branded PC and some told me to buy new ones and branded PCs are having problem of repairing.

Below I ha mentioned the new one and the used one please help me in selection

7300+6600+3650+2500+1500+1500..

rs 23050 for the new one, i added 1500 for casing and 1500 for dvd drive, its way better than that crappy dell.

I'm using Dell Optiplex GX 270 from the last 6 months (second hand) and running nicely. No problem MASHALLAH!

I purchased second hand because new one was expensive to purchase.

The 'branded' you are being offered is obsolete technology. Go for a New setup.

BTW; Just to bring things on record, ""branded"" aren't something out-of-this-world. They have everything you can get off the shelf except for a 'COMPANY BADGE'. The benefit of getting a 'branded' not a used 'branded' but a new one is that you are thoroughly covered by the company for technical support of any kind. Hardware and/or Software.

But; this support then costs you money. And moreover, if you buy from a reputed dealer of PC Components like Galaxy or the sorts, you should have total peace of mind in terms of claiming Warranty if need be.

i m not saying it wont be reliable, these are outdated computers, install windows vista , install office office 2007 professional and install norton 360. and these computers will start running like a pentium 2 on xp..

again very old, its like running 2 pentium 4 at 2.4ghz.

Modern quadcore would have costed you around 30,000rs and would have been a much better performer not to mention the power consumption, your power copnsumtion on this machine must be ridiculous.

look this processer was launched at end of 2002, just imagine how old technology you are using and it was build on 130nm process my god.

core2duo e8400 will perform better than this let alone a quad q9400.

you missed a point here, have a second hand machine and your newly built up machine, turn both on at the same time, and calculate performance after continous running of say 6 months, thats 24-7 uptime i am talking about, difference will be preety obvious, build up machines dont last long brother. and about power consumption you were talking about yes its a power guzler but atleast wont reboot on power surge due to inbuilt power surge control which you wont find in a build up system. than how would you compare performance and reliability of SCSI with SATA or IDE stuff. rest what intel says i agree, its old i agree but dont agree with " its like running 2 pentium 4 at 2.4ghz." there are other things attached as well

a build up machine will not have same performance after six months is just marketing trick by sellers of these pc's in the market , in reality nothing like this exist . In pakistan pc's end up burning because people use cheap quality casing, wiring and power supply. Realiability of pc depends upon the components you used when building a pc.

you said there are other things attached as well, i can mention many other things, like twp more example modern games and application can easily use upto 8gb of ram while ur pc is stuck at 3gb cuz its 32 bit, and all modern graphics card used pci xpress 2.0 while u r stuck on old agp.

All the pc reviewers and geeks build system themselves they dont buy a branded..
