Need help regarding how to add GPS system with my dvd HU

Salam all

hope all you guys are doing fine Alhamdolilah .. so guys from last few days am thinking to get my hands on a GPS system but my pioneer avh-x5550bt head unit doesnt comes with any so thought why not buy a separate GPS add on navigation unit like pioneer AVIC-U250 but am lil bit confused rite now that will it gonna support pakistani maps like sygic or trakkernav maps ? because this add on unit has an sd card reader what if i just put my own sd card in it which have pakistani sygic maps on it will it gonna work that way or not ?

oh and ive also contacted trakkernav.com waly and inquired about using their sd card with my dvd player heres what theyve said "If the car has a navigation device which supports either Windows CE 5 or CE 6 then you can run Trakker NAV on it by purchasing the software on an SD Card"
so i wana know what kind of software is my head unit pioneer avh-x5550bt and that pioneer avic u250 using is it android based or windows based ? your help in this regard would be greatly appreciated thanks

I think these r windows based. U cn check specs in d manual. In malaysia d maps r running now on pioneer HU so it shud run pakistan maps also in my opinion but double check with nav company.

wow many thanks for the reply sir ji .. yes ive contacted the trakker nav company they've said if car supports windows ce5 or ce6 navigation device then it should support and u must have got the sd card built in ur dvd player for navigation purpose but my dvd player doesnt have that sd card feature so i researched about it online and then came to know about that pioneer avic-u250 gps add on device but it costs alot like about 400$ :S .. if i proceed with the purchase of this item then whats the guarantee it should work here in pakistan (sygic maps) thats why posted a new topic and asked suggestions from honourable pakwheelers just to be on safer side

if its windows ce 5 6 based it would work with the app that trakker nav provides
if its android based like the newer DVD HU's, then the android system would run sygic directly as a an app. if sygic can run then Pakistani maps would run too

thanks yawar bhai for wonderful advice means it will work no matter what btw yehi tu pata nai chal raha ke my dvd player is an android based or windows based player ?? .. newayz i will try to get my hands upon it whenever i get budget of 400$ lolzz

Ill say dont spend $400 just for Navigation when you can get a dedicated tablet by Trakker NAV itself for Navigation purposes for only $190 i.e. around Rs. 19000 Spend the rest of the money on improving the other aspects of the Car audio

well thats also a very nice idea bro but my sq setup is almost complete now put alot of $$ on it roundabout 3000$ but dont wanna invest further for this year atleast :-# because sound system me jitny marzi $$ daal do ap but at the end of the day you just cant get fully satisfied kisi siyane ne kia khoob kaha he the road to SQ never ends ! now come to that gps keera part bro since last 4 or 5 days my friends even my uncle were asking me that why didnt i go for gps unit so now gps ka keera sawar ho gaya he mujh pe and i know one can get tablet or phone gps but jo shashka gps HU ka he wo baat kisi aur me kahan lolz
rite now bari mushkil se apni attention music system se divert kar ke ride looks ki taraf ki he and already started saving some $$ for it but first il have to kill that gps keera once n for all

I would still suggest not to spend $400 on this unit. Rather try to get rid of the current DVD and get the newer model DVD units that support Navigation built-in. I came across a DVD unit of Pioneer which was based on the Android System. So Navigation ka Navigation, Music ka Music and Android ka Android

yawar bhai you forgot to check the specs of this player no doubt its a cool player but theres a HUGE FLAW in it that is those two sets of RCA preouts (2V) for system expansion thats too outdated bro

i mean just look at my dvd HU specs it offers 3 set of Hi-Volt RCA preouts of (4V) each or APP RADIO mode tu merey dvd HU me bhi he .. u know pioneer refference players offers whooping (6V) preouts that give awsome clarity and power .. so (2V) wala ye player koi mujhy free me bhi de tu i wont take it lolzzz

wow its good to hear from you after a long time jz bhai how are you doing and whats happening aj kal kahan hoty hain ap sir ? bro HU ki tareefein tu phir honi hi hain ap ka khasoosi ehsaan jo he hum per u know why lolz ji jz bhai garmin gps bhi chaly ga per i think its not indash system am more inclined towards in dash gps system u know shashka stuff (H)

ji sir then i think ive to go for this eyes closed as it will work with my HU without any problems .. ive already started saving for this and will get my hands on it sooner inshAllah

i doubt if the pakistani maps will work on it. Pioneer has their own propriety maps and they havent licensed one for Pakistan yet. otherwise many people have pioneer HUs with navigation feature and they would have done this instead. instead of contacting map companies in Pakistan, contact pioneer international for help.
