Need Help: What will be the Aqua 2013 fuel consumption in my driving requirements?

Aqua owners feedback will help me to take benefit of Aqua and save my hard earned money from loss.

I got answer about rear seat of Aqua that 2 passengers can sit comfortably on long journeys.

I would let you know my journey requirements and driving conditions so that i can exactly know what will happen if i buy Aqua.

I am a software engineering and working from home as free lancer for last 5 years with USA clients.

My City Driving Conditions:
I have to drive to my car to nearest chock which is half kilometer away from my home. The car speed is 20-30km/h. Then i drive car towards our main market which is 2.5kms away. The car speed is 40-45km/h on this 2.5kms distance. Total distance is 6kms on both sides. We can sum up it to 10kms.

I daily go to main market 2 to 3 times so total travelling is 30kms/daily. Total city driving is 1200-1500kms/month.

Big Question:
What average i will get in city driving in my given above driving conditions? I have read online that Aqua (Prius C) is made for city driving. I expect 20-23kms/l average in above conditions.

In above conditions, My Vitz 2013 gives 10-12km/l with AC and 13-15km/l without AC

Motorway Driving
I go from Multan to Sahiwal or Okara 2 times in a year. The travelling distance is 450kms of both sides.

On motorway my Vitz gives 15km/l with AC 5 people on board. Without AC it gives 19-20km/l

I will spend 4 to 5 lacs to switch from my Vitz 2013 Grade 4 to Aqua 2013 Grade 4 car.

My goal is to buy Aqua for fuel efficiency so that i can run Aqua as much as i need.

I am fed up from driving motorcycle anymore due to safety reasons.

If you start the car in cold morning petrol engine will kick in to make coolant warm enough for heater and that will consume petrol straight away. Being soft on accelerator and breaking will help in saving fuel too. I would expect 25km average in local and on highway it should be close to 22km/liter. Once you hit 70kms and car needs pull due to ascent it will go on petrol straight away and above all your total kms vehicle will effect overall fuel consumption. Keep tyre pressure and engine oil thickness to recommended ratio

Fuel economy on short trips is not ideal. Based on my experience, I would say that your expected fuel economy will be around 17-18 km/l in the city. On highways, it depends a lot on the speed. If you drive at 100km/h, you will get around 22 km/l easily. Driving faster will reduce the economy.

In city, if you take one longer trip instead of several short trips, your economy will improve. For example, I live 24 km away from my office. My one side trip generally gives 26-27 km/l in the morning, and 23-24 km/l in the evening. Traffic is a lot more in the evening. If I go to the nearby market, which is around 1 km away, I get around 15-18 km/l depending on time of day, the way I drive and the weather etc.

17/18 kms isn't very impressive. Better check your engine oil thickness, How many KMs you got on clock.

I am talking about short trips, 2-3 kms max. No car gives more than this in short trips, not even hybrids. The engine starts to warm up and fuel is utilized in that. I have mentioned that I easily get 26-27 km/l on normal length trips.

What will be average in summar without AC with 1 adult on short trips for example 6kms?

Within the range of 15-18 km/l. In summers, the heat impacts battery performance. If the car is parked in shade, it will be beneficial and you will get a better economy. But at the end of the day, short trips of a few kms are not very fuel efficient. All of your time will be spent in engine warm-up (engines operate ~95 degrees Celsius). The economy will improve as you lengthen your trip.

Toyota recommend hybrid vehicle service each year. That mean cleaning the vents and filter for hybrid battery. It helps in keeping the battery cool and definitely prolongs overall life especially when the environment is full of dust.

how long we have to drive in city to fully charge Aqua battery?

The battery never fully charges, unless there is excessive braking, like when descending from a hilltop etc. Normally, the battery remains between 40-60%. When it is at 60%, the cluster shows 6/8 bars of battery. When it is at 40%, the cluster shows 2/8 bars of battery. Above 6/8 bars can only be charged through regenerative braking.

It generally takes around a km of drive to charge the battery from 40% to 60%, between which the battery operates in normal conditions, but that is not always true. A lot depends on the conditions, like how fast you are accelerating, what is the temperature of the batteries, what speeds are you driving on and battery health etc.

I have never serviced the battery fan, because I never felt the need to. I drive with windows closed and on my last inspection, which was a few weeks back, the fan was as clean as new.

you can disagree & buy the biggest battery on wheels if you like

you travel dist does not justify hybrid
buy a fuel efficient car or a bike for local market work

How do you compare this. Hybrid vehicle omission is 72gm/ km while same petrol variant carbon emissions are 120gm/km. No doubt a push bike or hybrid bike will have zero emissions

City:
Short trips: 10-12 without AC, 40km/h
Long trips: 14-16 without AC, 50-60km/h

Motorway:
15-16 with AC
21 without AC
