Need help with kp 60 2k engine

Looks like the engine is seized. When I wanted to change the engine oil, the engine was full of water and oil mixture, almost a bucket full of mixture came out from the engine. Now that I know the condition I only wanted to spin the pistons
We have put 2 LTRs of previously used engine oil and let it rest overnight tried to spin the pistons the coming day with help of a rod but it won't spin ( the mechanic did that)
The mechanic tells me now that they will have to open it up since it is badly jammed which will cost me around 15k
Actually I am doing a project and I'll have the engine changed eventually so I don't want to spend money on this engine. But then I still need the car to move ... Since it has to go to workshops
Is there any solution through which I don't have to spend that much money on the engine and it could run untill I replace it with a new one?

You can do any of following:
1- Change the engine in the first phase, if you have planned to do it later, do it now. Save money on existing engine repair.

2- If engine is not rotating, you will have to open engine head to see what inside. Since you drained mix of oil and water, there is strong possibility that head gasket is shot, and pistons are stuck, may be due to water presence, or in worst case, engine has been hydro locked (may be the car engine sucked in water during rain). Opening head will reveal its further treatment.

2k engine rebuild will cost you under 60000 with parts plus machine shop and labor charges. engine will be good for next 1 lacs of kms. At present due to world wide business closures scrapyards in Pakistan does not have imported scrap engine and parts. EFI engine prices have rocketed to cloud 7 level. Better is to rebuild and use vehicle. K series engines are armor class with careful minor maintenance these engine run trouble free for decades.

Sure the rebuild costs from 20k to 50k+ depending upon the quality of parts being used but even after the rebuild the car would stay underpowered..... Nonetheless your advice been noted and I'll consider it while making up a final decision

if you are thinking of underpowered etc etc. find a different car rather than treating like a sandwich and thinking that you can choose an engine (filler) for whatever car (bread)

Its an ancient starlet with live axle and probably a body so weak it will be flexing like an empty shoebox.

Sir I was thinking of a 7k efi...will it get overpowered?

I think that would be ok. Its not a very powerful or torquey engine. Xulfiqar must have seen more powerful engines in this starlet in Pakistan and those are not good for the car or the driver.

Yeah, 7k is perfectly fine for KP. I think it cost around 1-1.5 lacs now. Even 4k would be good in it for being a daily driver.

So I tried to open the head myself but failed...
arranged for a mechanic the next day
According to mechanic the valves were free but the pistons were locked. If the engine has to run the pistons must come out of the block
He said he'll do "rings and pistons" which will set the engine free and it will be able to run

Since the engine prices are rocket high I guess I am gonna run that engine untill I have the budget
And if in between a good 4k or 5k came around I might go for the swap
As I am a newbie to this whole thing so there is definitely alot of confusion

You should also get head rebuild.

Put thin lubricating oil around the pistons, let it sit overnight and then try rotating the pistons from the main pulley in the morning.If they budge, you won't need a rebuild. These engines are very stout. you can run them down without oil and they would still work.

I can attest to that, as long as some concept of “lube” is present this engine will run. It literally doesnt give a damn for small stuff like proper engine oil.
