Need Info About Tajikistan ByRoad Trip

Hello Travel Gurus,

I want to travel to Tajikistan by road on my bike (2016 BMW GS800F) from Pakistan. Kindly guide about the procedure of getting Visa, NOCs and other formalities.

1st step.

a. plan the trip over map ( shortest route is via Afghanistan or extended version is via Iran )
b. check and obtain visa for each country
c. get the bike insured and obtain an NOC from excise office for by road travel outside Pakistan
d. apply for carnet'de passge for the motor bike.
e. check the border control timings so not to get stuck
f. plan trip during April to October so the roads & Highways are open across the route.
g. get a travel insurance policy to cover you across the journey incase of any eventuality.

Thanks for the responce;
Well the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan is closed for crossing since long due to security reasons. Now the only possible route is from Pak to China via Khunjerab Pass, from there enter to Kygyzstan and then to Tajikistan. Secondly foreigners can't cross the border between China and Tajikistan. Moreover drivers/bikers also have to deal with driving in China, which can be a nightmare for foreigners.

do consider the route via iran azerbaijan & to destination. Chinese are not all friendly with foreign passport holders travelling by road through their country. plan it otherwise
