Take it this way, the F8B engine has enough power for the weight, that 4-speed transmission is SO full of SHIT that it loses every bit of power the engine has to offer.. Example is the Cuore, same old shit carbed 850 CC engine, but goes a lot better than mehran, why? Because its got a good transmission, and is transferring MOST of the power to the wheels. That is why I'm going to swap the tranny, and I can do an engine swap anytime since they can be mated with the 5 speed tranny im talking about..

What kind of technical info do you need? You know your mehran, go and see the engine along with the transmission for yourself, see the engine mount locations and have an idea if it would or not, you'd also have to buy the transmission for that engine, because it will only destroy the 4-speed tranny in Mehran so don't even bother..mating it to the stock trans.. if you want to swap the engine, you will HAVE to get the trans as well. They would also know how much the engine weighs so that'd be very helpful as well..

Yeah you are right about coure transmission. But I guess you can expect that from suzuki if you are getting a tin foil car for 5 lacs.

first of all OBD II, meaning, LOTS OF SENSORS, computerized timing, almost maintenance free. Tune up would require an air filter / spark plugs change only.. and the timing belt would be changed at 100K intervals.. F8B is a simple engine, every thing is mechanical, other than the temperature sensor, there is only one sensor in the engine and that is for the oil pump. One is for the generator / battery, one thermostat switch for the radiator.. and lol thats it You can advance / retard it as you wish and stuff.

of course the F8c/d f10d, would be using internals made of better, light weight materials, stronger and would be higher revving, the heads would be ported much much better, the intake manifold / exhaust system would be optimized for a really good flow.. etc etc.. Instead of the vacuum switches and distributor found in the F8B engines, you'd be dealing with things like IAC, TPS, MAP, MAF, O2U, O2D and other boring stuff.

you can google, but to be honest, I tried for 1 min and couldn't find anything.. I will see and if I get time then I'll look into that.. If you know about engines, you should give the Suri sahab visit and see for yourself, check the prices have a look around..

In 5 lacs you can build two Mehrans yourself and with better quality materials

I have googled it alot man. Nothing much on it. Thats why I opened this thread. I know what involved but you see every EFI engine is different, and I need to know what , where and why of them. F8B is simple mean although it require maintenance but you have a limited pool of problems which can occur. But with the C and D engines, the pool gets a lot larger. plus electronics are expensive.

That is what I said, the problems with these new engines would mostly be electronic rather than mechanical.. ask a few wagon R owners, and the people who drive chevrolet exclusive.. should give you an idea..

Considering this thread is quite old, had you two some success in your respective ventures?
I have been noting that 4-valve per cylinder engines are far better than 2-valve per cylinder engines. Now that F8D has 12-valve head, it could be bolt-on-bolt fit for F8B too. Bolt holes, water jacket holes etc. should be same. If we are able to use F8B tappet cover on it, fuel pump and distributor fitting could also be done. Since the camshafts run off the timing belt, essentially none of the electronics need be incorporated into the swap. I have been looking around but there are no F8D heads available in shershah, otherwise would have done myself.
Have any of you been able to find F8C/F8D or its parts as per your idea?

UPDATE 3 July 2010:

Members of the The Australian Mightyboy Owners' Network have discussed some of these things. The Daewoo Matiz (Chevy Exclusive rebadge) 5-speed gearbox won't fit on an F8B bolt-for-bolt because mounting boltholes and self-starter position are not the same. Also, an F8C cylinder head won't fit F8B because oil galleries and water jackets don't match (then how come the F8B and F8C share the same block I wonder).
