Dear PW Members,
I am planing a trip to hunza with my family on my 660cc alto (Japan). We are 4 adults and 2 kids. Can somebody guide me about the current road conditions of the routes (via Naran and via Besham). My other major concern is the power of my car and it also has low road clearance so will it be able to cross babusar top? Any help is much appreciated.
660 ccs go easily till khunjerab no issues. at some points you will have to be extra careful as the car touches from below
go via Naran and roads are excellent so there is no clearance issue but you need to drive carefully on ascend and decend around babusarpass.. i saw couple of cars heated up last week and both were 1300cc or above.. it isnt difficult and you just need to be patience.. road from Chilas to Raikot is bad except few patches but it gets worst between Tata Pani and Raikot and here on some points you can face clearance issue..
I feel that with 660CC having 6 persons (4 adults + 2 kids) on board , it will be little bit hard for steep ascending at few places near babusar specially when coming back from chillas to babusar
Thank you very much all for the help. hat about the other route which is via Besham and Dasu? Is it safe to travel on and the road condition?
Road is good and no issue of safety, but its very long route. Try via Naran/Babusar route.
From Chilas to BabuSar steep road may be a challenge for 660cc with 4 adults.
As this road is about 43 km long and extremely steep.
No.road condition is not very good. Area wise it is not secure also it is 190 kms longer than naran route
Its better to go from Naran-Babusar side and return via KKH (Bisham)
