I believe you'd have to replace the entire light with an aftermarket one to get the effect you're looking for. That's also the best thing to do and would hopefully be plug and play.
The other good option is to replace the stock halogen bulbs with LEDs, which is what I've done to my daily driver. The visibility and immediate on/off time with LEDs is essential IMO to ensure the deafblind unlicensed populace on the roads have a full chance to see that you're signaling to them right before they slam their CD70 into you without consequences or remorse. White reverse LEDs can also be very bright and can help you see at night.
You can find the right LED "bulbs" online individually for your OEM brake, reverse and indicator lights. The "CANBus" labeled ones have the necessary resistance to prevent fast flashing indicators or a dash light from coming on.
Your aftermarket lights have probably lost some LEDs behind the diffuser. They generally use very low quality components that can't stand the heat and vibration in automotive applications for very long.
