Need recommendations for a 7 seater family vehicle

AssalamoAlaikum Folks,

I am looking for suggestions from the members of this esteemed forum. I am needing suggestions for a 7 seater SUV or a mini van either new or used under 50 Lac. Please advise per your personal experience. The vehicle will have to be financed so please suggest if banks will be ok with used vehicles or I will have to go with new one.

Suzuki APV are good options.
Banks lease cars upto 6-8 years old.
In low budget changan karvaan seems a good option.
P.S: it is based on observation not have experienced any of these except APV.

Do not go with rush it has been a failure in Pakistan and does not have have features like panoramic sunroof or cruise control and also doesn’t look good plus it’s under powered so better avoid it

If you don’t want to get glory you should better opt for BRV as it will be cheaper and has loosely the same features as Rush

If you could live with a van you can also get a mid spec Hyundai grand starex within your budget it will be brand new and a CBU it’s way better then estima

Sorry restarting this conversation. Need more suggestions. Settling on brand new 2020 BRV but a friend suggested Toyota Noah as well. Any thoughts between the two please?

BR-V is small, do visit the showroom and take a look. If it meets your requirements then go for it. Its Honda, brand new, peace of mind. And now the BR-V comes with a lot of features too.

You mentioned a budget of 5 million. See if you can increase it and get a Grand Starex, or if possible, I would suggest getting Kia Grand Carnival. The price has increased to 9.4 million but if you can get that it will be the best 7 seater car. But if you can increase that much you can also look into Toyota Fortuner G, which is around 7.5 million.

Japanese options are good too, most of them are hybrids and Toyota, so longevity is well established and hybrids will give reasonable fuel economy too. One I would recommend you too look into is Honda Freed. The new generation Freed is a beautiful 7-seater vehicle, and should fit within your budget. The downside being Honda hybrids are complex to maintain compared to Toyota. Also look into Toyota Sienta and see if that fits your needs.

My opinion is to avoid Chinese and Glory 580.

Glory is not a bad car in the 7 seater category and has many features and more power then the sluggish brv I will recommend glory

I will also recommend you should look for a used last gen grand carnival it has v6 engine and good features along with dealership support

Budget is under 5million. Will brv be able to climb high altitude highways like Muree with 7 people onboard? I am mainly concerned about it’s 1500 cc engine and wish it had at least 2000 cc.

It’s performance will not be any better then a normal sedan in fact worse as it is much heavier underpowered does not have features that help in hilly areas like hill assist and hill decent it just looks like an suv but in reality it’s just an underpowered van that looks like a suv
Glory 580 1800cc version is the best choice for you it can easily handle hills with good performance and IMO it’s a better option than 1.5T glory

Glory 580 1.5 turbo version is known to not climb up if it stops to a standstill on slopes. Please goolge the issue, it is prevalent with complaints from multiple countries. If you choose Glory, please select the 1.8 NA version. One link.

You are spending a huge amount, I would suggest to avoid Chinese (except MG).

Look into Prius Alpha too, a good import should be within your budget.

People take BR-V to Murree etc, look for the BR-V thread in this forum. BR-V is also available on rent for Murree and northern areas. But BR-V is not an SUV/Crossover. It is an MPV that looks like a Crossover. There is no 4WD or AWD as well. But being honda, it is reliable, and it does the job well, and it now has good features too.

Glory 580 might also feel underpowered. This category of vehicles is not for fun. Only fortuner 2.8D or Prado 4.0 will have a better combination of speed, acceleration and off-roading.

Bro glory is not underpowered you cant compare it to a Fortuner or prado it’s smaller and lighter then them 1.5T is not underpowered at all imo 1.8 does feel a bit sluggish but way better compared to brv and is better in hilly areas then 1.5T

13-14 seconds to reach 100. Very slow. Also the issue with climbing hills. And I am sure pushing the little 1.5 engine with Turbo and other optimizations will wear that down quickly too. Plus turbos are sensitive to fuel quality.

I have been using JDM Prius for 3.5 years, no issues. I will recommend Prius Alpha since there are Prius in the world that have done over 2-300k miles (not km). Proven reliability. Being common parts are also available. Great mileage. Cannot say any one of the above for DFSK.
