Need some honest reviews of Toyota Fortuner 2018 Diesel Version

HI Members,

I am planning to purchase a Toyota Frtuner Diesel Version. Has any of the members driven it or owns it. Need some honest opinion on the performance of the Diesel engine given the quality of diesel fuel in Pakistan.

I ma looking for a 4X4 as. I travel quite extensively to remote areas of Paksitan therefore the petrol version now seem like not an option.

The new 4x4 fortuner is ok for pakistani bad diesel. Previous engine was D4D which now toyota changed to newer one 1GD.
So no worries, and buy the ride & enjoy.

This new engine is better than 1kd but not suitable for pakistani diesel.

Been driving the new fortuner Diesel for more than a month now and it has been excellent so far. Contrary to what people might suggest, this is coming straight from the owner that there are no fuel compatibility issues and the car runs excellent on our local diesel. Pakistan has been importing euro2 500ppm(max) sulphur diesel since 2017 start and the 1GD fortuner we get here is also specced accordingly, i.e. euro2 with no dpf,scr. Toyota Pakistan are not stupid to launch a new engine without testing it locally. So I'm not sure where these claims of 1GD going bad on our local fuel are coming from.
As for the rest of the vehicle review, I would suggest like the other member has pointed out, to go through the fortuner thread. There are multiple owner reviews there. Nobody will copy-paste it here.
