Need suggesstions for Suzuki Mehran Engine Overhaul

Salam,

I have Suzuki Mehran VX 2005 with 120,000 Millage done till today (March 2019).

Problems:

• Engine turns off without pulling "CHOKE " and still does seconds "missing" during drive. So, It only works with 30-40% "CHOKE" being pulled all the time.

• It is reducing engine oil so rapidly and there no leakage signs on the ground where it is parked. (Using Havoline 10W-40 - black bottle and was changing after 3000-3500km)

• it throws white smoke for few seconds on every startup in the morning. (Guessing this is linked to oil reducing problem which is burning oil)

I went to two different mechanics and both suggested Complete engine overhaul with estimate of 30 to 35 thousand cost including good quality parts.

So, I need your guys suggestions. Does this estimate sound fine? (30K-35K)

and how much would a complete engine overhaul would cost today? with Japani and normal quality parts?

for a Mehran it is a bit on the higher side. Remember to buy all the parts yourself and keep and eye on the Mechanic doing the overhaul. a Proper overhaul carefully executed works good and if cared for has quite a long life.
