Dear respected members,
I am currently driving Mitsubishi EK Wagon 2007 and willing to change my car in 11-12 lacs budget. Before you guys suggest me a car in that budget, please read my preferences below:
My usual route
- Bahria Town Karachi to Karachi city and back 5 times a week.
Here is what I hate about my current car and I do not want these points for the next car I buy:
- Expensive and hard to find spare parts. Mostly only kabli spare parts are available.
- Most repairmen have no idea about certain things in car - like: assembly or electronics, opening the dashboard for cleaning etc. so they end up doing things on trail and error.
- Low acceleration and car feels vulnerable when going 100 kmph on highway. I bought this car for fuel efficiency and compactness, although max I get per liter is 13 to 14 kmph that is shameful when comparing it with modern 660cc cards. I go on highway everyday now and feel very light on road on high speeds.
- Suspensions are very smooth compared to other 660cc cars of 2007 but potholes and speed bumps still always give a feel of extreme discomfort.
Here is what I am looking for
- Comfortable highway drive. Specially provides comfort when traveling with family on long drive.
- Chilled AC even in the hottest days of Karachi.
- Readily available and affordable spare parts. I
- Most repairmen are familiar with the car.
- Is not high maintenance.
- Power steering.
- ABS brakes.
- Cars that are available in this range should have good engine and suspension condition generally after 7 to 8 year of use. I can spend some extra bucks to get few tweaks like installing brand new transmission belts, battery, better lamps, changing transmission fluids etc but can not compromise on suspension and engine.
- Most not be more than 7-8 years old.
- Is not Mehran.
- I am OK with 11 kmpl mileage but more is better.
- Has good resale value.
- I prefer automatic transmission but as I have a tight budget, I can compromise for manual transmission if I get a good condition car.
- Not interested in Japanese car because of all reasons I have mentioned above but if you can change my mind, I will be blessed.
What I have in mind
- Toyota Corolla: Pros- durability and comfort. Cons- I can only get a 8 years old model in my range, is that too old?
- Suzuki Swift: Pros - Can get 4-5 years old that is newer compared to a Corolla in this range. Cons: It is a local assembled Suzuki so comes with bad quality assurance, also I hate the attitude of Suzuki dealership.
- Honda City: Pros - Durability and comfort, better mileage, still in shape in 2019. Cons: Low ground clearance, expensive repair and spare parts.
This is all according to my limited knowledge about cars. Apologies in advance if this post is not according to the standards here as I am new here and this is my first post. I am looking forward to more expert opinion from the respected members here. Thank you all for reading. May Allah bless you for your time and help.
